Forgive me if this is a repost, but I don't see it on the front page or a cursory scan of the two Pixies forums (the search feature didn't work).

Eagerly awaiting! Seen the Pixies so often live this year this will be a switch. Do you think Kim will be holding a beer? |

That was cool, they played Monkey Gone To Heaven, but didn't they look nervous!!! It took a while for them to start, I wonder if there were technical difficulties or something... |

Absolutely disastrous! Frank walked up to the microphone and said, "This will be our first-ever performance of Watch What You're Doing." Then the band started playing Build High, but the lyrics for WWYD were playing over the sound system. Frank realized he was busted for lip-synching, so he did a little hoe-down dance, tore up a picture of the pope and ran off the stage.
So much anticipation down the drain. Guess they won't be invited back anytime soon. |

I would shout on the rooftops that the world had ended had that been true.

Oh no...my sources tell me that things have gotten worse.
The technicians were trying to cover up for the lip-synching and hastily ejected the tape. Unfortunately, the tape was torn to shreds.
Frank took the news rather hard. He could be heard yelling, "That was Gary Smith's master copy! It's been sitting in a vault for 17 years and now you've destroyed the only copy in existence! Now the world will never hear Watch What You're Doing...God knows I'm not playing it again after this debacle." |

It's funny that you mention that, because last night Ashanti was on Letterman and she provided one of the most hilariously bad lip-synch/dance numbers I've ever witnessed. I would have switched the channel right away except that this particular performance was like a bloody trainwreck straight from the depths of hell. But she and the backup dancers all had on really short shorts, and I guess that's all that matters to people anymore.

If only the Pixies had worn short-shorts when they played the Dennis Miller Show back in the day.
Mega-platinum sales. |

I wish the camera had cut to Joey at the start of his solo, but instead they went for this wide, far shot of the band. Oh well. I really loved Paul's keyboard contribution; you could tell he was really into it.
Austin City Limits should be great! |

Well, David was wearing tight leather pants tonight. That has to count for something, doesn't it?

Nah, I really wanted to see some ass cheek peeking out at me.
Perhaps if they play Conan one day. |
