"Run" with Gordon Gano ("And God bless Frank Black who gives the performance of a lifetime on Run with an apoplectic intensity unmatched anywhere by anyone. It's so great and done with such an intensity, Gano says, but there was a game plan. He had this concept that he would keep recording it and on each pass he would take up the intensity level. The take they ended up with is definitely well-past eleven.")

Powerful stuff! The Man's vocals here will stand toe-to-toe with any of his other hall of fame primal screaming.

By the way, I'm listening to "Black Weed Supper," from Frank's Knoxville sessions.

not sacred, just void of teenage dissent. a thread for the, how should i put it, less mature around here to act older and wiser than their years if they wish to. If not, post here:
non-frank black songs, you should be here |

Alex, it's cool, i can take a joke or two, just that once one starts posting lame, it seems to snowball. I'm just trying to save us from descending into farce and having this inoffensive thread locked. I'm not really bothered how members choose to behave around here, sometimes the teenagers (it always seems to be the kids, hmm) are the only entertainment and i laugh along with the mischief.
and now this posts like a red flag to a bull, i best get in one last song before the mischievious little imps takeover.

Nice selection fbc, I got up at 5:15 a.m., checked FB.net, took your advice, listened to "I Want Rock and Roll", and voila, I am awake now also.
Coffee is perking and I am now sitting at the computer and listening to "Snake Oil", (headphones)
Rock and Roll, Snake Oil, and caffine, it doesn't get much better than that,..., this early, anyway.

thanks for that.
my very first post asks for a little more than just a song title, but i can't control what people post. like yours for example. my original intentions were to find out what people like in the song, see if they have the same likes as me. You must agree (maybe) there's alot going on in some of them, i am fascinated to know what other fb fans hear when listening.
how do these threads fuck up other boards? this is my first and only forum you see. |

"You must agree (maybe) there's alot going on in some of them" definately, but I think the idea of the song of the day or over a couple of days... especially, the recent threads by starmekitten with a song every couple of days... they are properly sepearted into threads so you can read about the song and gather a little bit of info on a specific song very quickly....
firstly, these threads get long quickly (i've seen on other boards), the thread gets too long, basically, name FB songs u like and why ? That's the whole aim of the forum really (all in one thread).... you'll find that these types of threads get very active as they encompass everything... don't mean to put a downer on things....

you've put a downer on nothing here lonely persuader. i understand where you're coming from. one thing about this thread, i've been introduced to some fb songs i never knew existed, which is a good thing. so i'm extremely thankful for that (especially oldman, my hats off to you). at least it's been a happy little thread for me.

Hey fbc, you ain't the only one that enjoys this thread,it's one of the first threads that I check here at FB.net And, yeah, I'm still looking for those Frank Black songs that I don't have and I thought I had found one in your post here the other day about "Go Home Girl", but I looked a little harder and discovered that I did have it.
So, my quest continues.

....SNAKE OIL....(on repeat, after repeat, after repeat)....Damn, too much is never enough...
"YEAH, YEAH, YEAH, I NEED SNAKE OIL" and some of Rich's guitar (Fender on this one, fbc?) and I gotta salute The Man's ENTHUSIASM (Webster's definition: strong excitement of feeling, something inspiring zeal or fervor) on this one, just like so many others.

That's some serious rock'n'roll you got there, Oldman. My kind of music. And when it's coming from Frank Black, the sweeter it is. I would love this to have been included on SMYT but doubt it would fit in Oh well. Killer b-side in the end (wonder how the boxset's coming on)
I'm a fender boy Coffeecan, if that isn't a tele, it should be. And if the catholics no more, never seeing this song performed live will be a regret. just an 'ickle one though
Have I yet to hear a bad cover from the big guy? |
