I've been getting cravings for "Holland Town", "Johnny B" and "If Your Poison..." recently. Luckily for me they're on a mix CD I have in the car.
It's an acoustic version of "Barleycorn" I'm listening to and I can't get enough of it, look what we got her, hey!

Bowie's like us. He gets Charles. He's the best talking head on the Pixies doc "Gouge", very eloquent and talks lovingly. Oh and Thom Yorke too. I'm off to check out that Youtube. So what Nirvana track should Charles cover?

It cracks me up that Bowie picked that song to play on Leno. Leno's audience had NO IDEA what they were clapping like crazy along to. |

A glass of Whisky and Coke in my hand, I'm right back at the beginning of this thread.
Coastline has to be one of my favourite...scrap that, I love them all, how the hell can a Frank Black fan choose favourites amongst 300+ songs? Anyway, I'm listening to Coastline. The penultimate track on the last Catholics album and what a way to slowly bring things to an end. Perfect.
If the world wasn't so shitty at this moment in time I wouldn't feel so selfish in saying I am so content right now. I find peace in this song. |

Sister Isabel " she changed her name from Laura to sister Isabel" I love that line. Does anyone know which cat or kitten wrote that? |

That was Jon Tiven's dog, I believe. I seem to remember that this was recorded at Tiven's house.

Finally started loving "Cold Heart of Stone" recently. Couldn't stop playing it today. Some great lines in there. "If ever you need, don't call."
Please pardon me, for these my wrongs. |

I love that line, too! I like the live version on youtube. couple of weeks ago I had one of those days that I couldn't stop playing it. Feels good to discover something new, doesn't it?

For a while I got into the habit of hearing it along with How You Went So Far. The two just seem to go together for me. That line about being scared to leave just slays me. Vocals so sad and strange and beautiful too.

Mosh, Dont Pass the Guy. Always get a kick out of this when I hear it. I know it's a very minor track but it's catchy and addictive.

It's tracks like that one that I love. Never really praised much but when you hear it you think "Wow, this really is brilliant!" Cult of Ray is a fantastic album. I like to play "Mosh" on my guitar too, very fun.
