that's cool. I wouldn't have realized that cause I don't count that high. Frank's deep.

yep. Hey, that reminds me of the other night when my brother and me pulled over on the Shelby Street bridge to take a piss after a night of honky-tonkin, and I remarked how cold the water was and my brother said it was pretty deep too. I bet Frank is deep like that.

"Go Find Your Saint"

loving it cause...theoretically it sounds good, anyway...

"Had no life, I was feeling like some kind of unfinished project"
[hey Frank/whoever, you're in your 40's, not much time left to finish the project and it ain't gonna finish itself]

"I had a friend John, he said let me turn you on to the saint of Inanimate Objects"
[inanimate object, over 40, unfinished project, it's all the same thing/same person. My friend John has got to be a psychiatrist, M.D., you know, the one that writes the presriptions for the meds]

"Pill by pill a miracle occurred
The whole world got better"
[Yep, Dr. John turned you on to Paxil, Zoloft, Wellbutrin,..., I don't know, maybe it could be that easy...]

[Anyway, I could be completely wrong, but this interpretation makes sense to me.]

Made me a pretty cool 200+ mp3 list of Frank stuff... It began like this:

John The Revelator (acoustic)
Sunday Sunny Mill Valley Groove Day (SSMVGD version)
A Dab'll Do Ya
Parry The Wind Hi Low (live)
Brackish Boy (live)
I Heard Ramona Sing (live)
Valley Of Our Hope
Angst (live acoustic)
Kicked In The Taco (acoustic)
Skeleton Man (live)
Space Is Gonna Do Me Good (live)
Valley Of Our Hope (Peel Session)
All The Tired Horses
YOu Ain't Me (acoustic)
His Kingly Cave (SSMVGD version)

and on and on and...

I know i've read it somewhere before, but how different is His Kingly Cave, ssmvgd version, compared to Devil's Wokshop version? Better?

and would you buy a wok from the devil?

Much better, in my opinion. The keyboards give the song a 60's kind of vibe. I don't know if it's Eric Drew Feldman playing, but they really light the song up. And Frank's voice is much clearer than the echo-overload DW's version.

But he doesn't say "yes" at the end. And that really makes all the difference, doesn't it?

"Humboldt County Massacre"

loving it cause it's another track from my H-CAT CD mix...

and, Frank tells the stories that aren't always pleasant to hear:

Massacre: the act or an instance of killing a number of usually helpless or unresisting human beings under circumstances of atrocity or cruelty

"1826"

Goddamn, this motherfucker is the quintessential H-Cat track [Ahhh, Ahhh, Ahhh, Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, Ahhh, Ahhhh, Ahhh, Ah, Ah, Ahhhhhhhhhhh]

What year is it anyway? MUST BE 1826, right now, cause I'm smelling death, in fact the stench has come upon me. Not my death, mind you, just some old peoples I visited, they're dying, and it aint' gonna be long now. I'm preparing their Last Will and Testaments as I listen to this most appropriate tune.

Long Live Rock N Roll!
Long Live the Catholics!

No, it's not bad news, for me anyway. In my business, if it wasn't for others' misforture, I'd have no fortune at all. Not to sound cold, but it's a client and not family. Except that they are longtime clients and longtime friends of my grandfather. In fact D.W. used to come into the office 2-3 times a year, and everytime he would tell me the story of how everyday after school, he and my grandfather would wrestle and he would kick my grandfather's ass. Ha! pretty cool, huh. That's some old school, primetime shit, right there. Memories that were priceless to him and funny to me and nothing to anyone else, huh.
He looked pretty bad though, lost 50 lbs., 5 way heart bypass, and he's either gonna rebound or die, know what I mean...anyway, Death, a necessary part of life, ergo 1826, huh.

And, yeah, Frank: a song for every occasion!

How bout Changing of the Guards, you know, that's my favorite back-up vocals, bar none! Listened to it on the way home tonight, singing it right now in my head...Ummmm, I smell chicken, dinner's almost ready, [edit:and she better have some paperbag fries, or someone's not gonna be happy, KNOW WHAT I'M SAYIN!, Goddamn, always forgetting the damn sugar, huh] huh.

gotta be FB and THE CATHOLICS inspired, in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a Duke of Fender original.
