I remember first hearing this song when I saw Frank live in November 2002, and I thought it was really cool. The chorus stuck in my head. Anyway, I recently put it on a mix CD I'm making.

Hey fbc, I think you're right the second time, they're more 'grrrrr's, one of those sounds you make whenever you wake-up and stretch.
Also, It's very similar to his intro vocals "ahhh, that's nice" to "Ten Percenter".
