homer, i bought one of these for $30 US to protect the siggy.

the firewire port (that you hook up to the computer and, for me, the power in the car) came loose and broke right off.
i called apple to have it repaired (not wanting to void the warranty, you know) and they assured me i'd get the SAME ipod back. i talked to FIVE, count 'em 5, tech guys and gals and they ALL told me i'd get my pod back.
i didn't.
i called apple to complain (the ONLY time i've not been happy with their service [and i use it ALOT]) and they basically told me to piss off, that it's policy to replace the unit and not just the part. I begged for them to just send me the metal case with the siggy and they told me there's no way to locate it. I offered to go dumpster diving for it but no soap.
sigh.
guess I need to see another frank show and have him sign another ipod. when's he touring?
it really did bum me out...i was depressed. people thought it was so cool. but i have memories of him signing it (and then he smiled at me and stared at me for, like, 5 seconds with this smile on his face--a little weird but way f'n cool.)
ok. group hug or somethin. vodka?

That happened with mine too, the same problem, but as mine was not signed by the Man, I was happy to be getting a new one...
