No, I can't afford them, I must've shelled out about £300 for tickets this month.
How's that for a slice of fried gold? |

A promo copy of Andrew Bird And The Mysterious Production Of Eggs just landed in our office mail (cos he'll be playing here in October). But of course I've already got it. It's been too long since I've bought music - at least a whole month (gasp!). I'm beginning to feel the effects of withdrawal...

I bought Carolyn Mark's "The Pros and Cons of Collaboration" for my girlfriend last week, and I've listened to it quite a bit.

Went a bit of a splurg this morning and got the remastered Adam and the Ants, Prince Charming, The Byrds, The Notorious Bird Brothers and a Best of the B-52's called Planet Claire (mostly their eighties stuff).

I bought a bunch of very good and very cheap CDs this week: - Robert Wyatt - Cuckooland - Ramones - Pleasant Dreams and these 4 at the insane price of €4.99 each, new: - Björk - Bachelorette ep - Submerge Depth Charge 5 (techno compilation) - Juan Atkins - 20 Years 1985-2005 - Death From Above 1979 - You're A Woman, I'm A Machine Japanese edition

Wow! €4.99, cheapest I found was €6.99. Those sort of sales always make me spend way more then I should, It's a trick they always play on me, when I think I'm not spending as much I'm actually spending more!

My girlfriend bought the new New Pornographers (wow, that sounds redundant) album last week.

Have you heard Weather Systems? It's even better. Plus his old band, 'Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire' has a couple of good albums. Much more jazzy, mind you. Oh! The Grandeur is probably the best.

I think I remember Ramona talking about how disappointing that reunion was but I'm very curious about how they sound after all this time. Have you heard any Knitters stuff Kathryn, I'm really dying to get my hands on some of their stuff!

I like the Knitters and I adored the reunion. I saw them in LA and they fucking rocked the entire universe. I cried thru half of the show. I've posted about it before and how it was a life-changing experience. Everybody I know raved about it.
I also saw John Doe open up for FB+theCs and join Frank and the boys for a kick-ass 666. Let me tell you, Frank was very solicitous of John, as we all ought to be.

Sooo jealous! I've seen the Pixies, so my next favorite band to reform and see live is up there on my list but it's very doutful. Wow! thanks for enlightning me about John Doe opening for The Man. Thought I would have noticed that post about the your X reunion experience! He also did stuff with Kristen Hersh and Grant Lee Phillips which I really have to hear!

The Knitters are out touring.
I thought it kind of silly for X to put out another live CD. How is it going to improve on the Whiskey a Go Go show when they're so many years older? |

I wouldn't mind hearing at least one song first, but I am definitely intrigued. I love his interviews. The man is bonkers.
