Yeah I spent far too much this Christmas. Lots of bargains in the sales though.

I just got through the post - Murcof: Remembranza Clue To Kalo: One Way, It's Every Way Caribou: The Milk Of Human Kindness
I'm pretty excited to listen to the Caribou record, I love the last two Manitoba ones.

What happened to Rancid? Ever since Josh Homme stole Tim Armstrongs wife then threatened to beat him up they seem to be laying low. |

D'oh!
Its funny, i was into Rancid when i was like 14 and rediscovered 'And Out Come The Wolves' on a trip to my parents house last week. So i went on eBay and bought Life Won't Wait for a penny plus S&H just to see if anything else was worth buying. Say what you want about them, they had some good songs.

I don't think I'd ever give ...Wolves away, but I never really got into Life Won't Wait. Still, for that price fuhgeddabooooutit. One of my lecturers at uni was friends with a guy who worked in the studio where Rancid recorded. He said, one day the band came in with these big white bags and gave them to the studio assistant, i.e. Carlos' friend. When he asked what they were, the band just said, laundry.
Punk hey?
I just got the Arctic Monkeys album (underwhelming) and the Infadels' 'We Are The Infadels' through the mail, thankyou Domino. The Infadels one is ace.

Glad to read this - 'Hell's Ditch' is my favorite Pogues album. By the way, it was produced by Joe Strummer.

He mumbles his way through the lyrics but the more I listen to it the more I think it adds to the overall charm. |

I was always more of an Operation Ivy fan but I did like the "Timebomb" song. And "Hyena" from the first record I believe. |

Isn't that album amazing?
Stuff I recently bought (I'm not going to bother with pictures, plus I'm afraid that would make the page horribly long to load):
- Mclusky: The Difference Between Me and You Is That I'm Not on Fire - Fantômas: Suspended Animation (limited edition) - Fantômas/Melvins Big Band: Millennium Monsterworks - Patton/Kaada: Romances - General Patton Vs. The X-ecutioners - The Dillinger Escape Plan: Calculating Infinity - The Dillinger Escape Plan: Miss Machine - Throwing Muses: University (limited edition) - Throwing Muses: Bright Yellow Gun EP - Kristin Hersh: Sunny Border Blue (limited edition) - Danny Cohen: We're All Gunna Die - Josh Rouse: 1972 - The Duke Spirit: Cuts Across the Land - Hüsker Dü: Metal Circus - Balling The Jack (comp from the radio show I'd never heard of before we got to hear that great cover of "The Happening" by The Surgens... the comp has tracks by Nick Cave and Tom Waits) - Robert Wyatt: His Greatest Misses (of course I already have everything, but I couldn't resist the cardboard sleeve and the artwork) - Johnny Diesel & The Injectors (used to listen to this back in '89 when it came out... couldn't resist the CD when I saw it going for $5 in Sydney)
and a couple DVDs: Violent Femmes: Permanent Record - Live and Otherwise Dresden Dolls in Paradise The Pogues live at the Town & Country Club London (the date isn't printed anywhere but it seems to be 1988?)
I have a huge pile of unlistened CDs next to me... My MP3 player is out being repaired and my hi-fi doesn't work... Thank God for computers.
