I know. I was thinking about it the other day. At first I thought it was just two years ago, but in the summer it will be three.
Madness. I was also thinking about Simon slumped against the wall of that club/gig, totally off his face. No idea who that band were but I do seem to remember them being shit.

oh, except for coxon. Coxon is VERY cool. A citizen above is a friends band...and GLC/rifles etc gig - pretty much only known in england, for most of them.

The Infadels is a good choice out of those, if nothing else, they put on a superb show. With a giant smiley face.

Last night, I went to a burlesque show, which included Corn Mo playing a few songs.
Also yesterday, I got tickets to see Neko Case in April.
Unfortunately, I most likely won't be able to see the Minus 5 when they come to Philadelphia.

I saw The Go! Team again on Saturday at their biggest venue yet. Amazing once again. Their new stuff sounds every bit as good as the first album.

i gayed up a few gigs by getting train tickets back home 27th-2nd. already had a ticket for DIRTY PRETTY THINGS on the 28th, will have to sell that. and i wanted to see the fucking go team on monday (they moved to the campus venue so more tickets were available) but i leave that afternoon. so fucking shit, i am listening to them right now and would have loved to see them.
btw if i went to se the raconteurs on the 23rd march at the astoria, do you reckon i would be able to get to goodge street to catch a tube by 23:07? (that being the last possible time before i miss the last train to norwich)

Polytechnic - Their best yet The Longcut - Still criminally under-appreciated Nine Black Alps - Fantastic, with great new songs
Not bad for one gig.

I screwed up, waited too long to buy my New Pornographers/Belle and Sebastian tickets and now they have sold out this place that never sells out. Dammit. Scalper here I come. I honestly did know enough about Belle and Sebastian and the fact that their fans are so rabid. Damn them. DAMN THEM!

I went to the Arthurball last night. Pretty cool stuff, like a ghetto Lollapalooza. I'd never heard of most of the bands but some noteworthy moments were Morris Tepper's set with PJ Harvey on bass. He's a pretty energetic performer, dancing around with an acoustic and hollering the whole time. And then the 5:15'ers with Josh Homme and Chris Goss were surprisingly good. Them and the whole Queens crew were there, very nice and approachable folks.

They were very good again. Was dissapointed by the Morning After Girls in support. I expected more after High Skies.

I noticed there's a bunch of bands coming to Paris in April, don't know what's best to see between: - Deerhoof (Apr. 05) - Afrirampo (Apr. 10) - Jenny Lewis (Apr. 15) - Flaming Lips (Apr. 28)
Any recommendation would be appreciated.

Went to see the Violent Femmes in Dublin last saturday night - fantastic show as usual - it was my fifth time to see them... the time before i saw them in New Zealand, in a town i concidentally happened to arrive in the night they were due to play. But last saturday night was great, not even the riots in dublin (!!) earlier that day dampened their enthusiasm! they actually did an Ireland tour - four dates in total, which is great considering most bands from far afield just tend to hop across from britain to do a Dublin gig. In fact the last couple of times they played in dublin they have played at least one other date in another part of the counrty |

Lucky duck! I've had to physically stop myself from listening to their new album everyday since I bought it.

Cheers for that VoVat, sounded like a good show. They sold out really quickly when they played here recently so I missed an opportunity to see them. A friend of mine saw them a couple of years ago and said, for such meek and twee band they did a lot of guitar smashing. No such antics this time round?
