for those of you not in the US, let me explain how bad this is:
+ bush is almost certainly getting re-elected.
+ republican control of the house is increasing by 2 seats at least.
+ republican control of the senate is apparently increasing by 2 seats.
+ one of our supreme court justices is going to die, probably this year, and they are appointed by the president and the appointment is for life. he is going to appoint a crazy conservative.
+ 10 of 11 states with proposals to ban gay marriage passed them. sadly this includes my state, michigan (i voted against it of course.)
this means bush and the rest of his crazed party have free reign to fuck over this country as much as they want; which is a lot.
we are totally and completely fucked. |

additionally as this is a crushing defeat for the democratic party and a victory for the republican party the democrats will have to reform.
but will they reform and come up with a better, and more distinctive platform?
no, they will move further towards the republicans.
we are heading toward a one party country.
additionally i foresee bush and the republicans passing a constitutional amendment in 2007 so arnold can run in 2008. |

I'm sort of planning to move to Costa Rica at fifty three (I'm thirty seven now). At fifty three I'll have thirty years on the railroad in. I can retire with thirty but can't collect until I'm sixty. I figured I'd take what I've accumulated and ride it out for seven years in a third world country.
Honest to God if I could come up with a way to make money down there I'd leave tomorrow.
Maybe I could sell doobies.

I will add this, there actually is nothing wrong with watching wrestling... Although it is in a sad state right now, that's neither here or there, wrestling can and has been a very good source of entertainment and not just to make fun of. My opinion, and at least it might lighten the mood some.

With OH and some of the other swing states (Michigan, Wisconsin) he'll defeat Bush.
There's a ton of provisional ballots; the tide will turn.
Kerry will be the new president. |

I'm tellin' ya...Bush will lose to Kerry. The numbers are there for Kerry to win. In Ohio, some people still hadn't voted (they were still in line) by 11:30pm.
The Republicans wanted to challenge OH ballots because they were afraid he'd lose.
Fuck NBC for giving OH to Bush. I expect that shit from Fox but...well...honestly, I don't expect any better from the mainstream media. But still...
Anyway. It may take a while but when all the votes are counted, OH goes to Kerry as does the election.

I got up at 6 this morning and headed over to my mates house to brave shitty CNN, watch the election and get wasted. To be honest I thought that Kerry had done enough to win today, and with the fact that Bush is a war criminal I really thought that the majority of American voters would make the correct choice and vote Kerry. Sadly this is looking as if Bush has got it again.
I hate to say this but the rest of the world today will look at USA with complete contempt at how they could allow such an idiot to be re elected. It's really unbelievable..... shocking in fact. It shows that the majority of Americans are very very stupid and have a severely fucked up view of the world..... of course I do not mean to label every American like the twats that voted Bush, as I know there are alot of clued up, decent folk about.
Lets keep our fingers crossed that Kerry manages to get Ohio!

It's religion, plain and simple...the same reason Bush was able to get both the popular and electoral vote. Since there's no tolerance for homosexuality in the bible, then there will be no tolerance for it in America. Arrgh!

The Bible is just a book, when will people realise.
I know the opium for the masses helps so many and gets them through hard times,
but I think it's just a way of dealing with things when times are hard. When all else fails,
get on your knees and pray. Peoples own faith and strong beliefs gets them through,
with no physical or emotional help from their God above. It's all in their head. |
