I remember there being a beer thread a while back so I figure I'll try to start one based on everyones favorite hard liquor. I'm going to say Jack Daniels.

mmmmmn! Hard liquor. Woodfords Reserve Single Cask Bourbon. It's heaven on the tongue! The Maccallan Single Malt Highland whiskey! Need I say more? I also like a good gin, Tanq Ten.

Kentucky bourbon. Booker's, Knob Creek, Noah's Mill...
and Vodka for a sober drunk, when you want to get something done. I'm certainly no vodka aficionado, but I like Vox, with cranberry or pomegranate juice and club soda.
Someone mentioned absinthe. Haven't had it in a long long time, but it sure is good.

I guess Maker's Mark, but we're talking with Coke here (in a Lemmy stylee): I can't take any of it neat. Maybe sherry.

maybe its my Greek descent, but other than good whisky (i.e. Makers Mark, Gentleman's Jack...) my favorite liquor in the world is
OUZO
I can drink completely unreasonable amounts of it. Tip of the day: Chug as much of it as you want straight (within reason), then chase it with some swigs of water. The way ouzo is, water basically cancels out 90% of the harshness of it...I know it sounds crazy, but it works. |

Grey Goose is too exspensive, and so are single malt scothces, of course I love those but I can't afford that.
Jim Beam is cheap and it tastes like Ice Tea. And it is the offcial Whiskey of Rock and Roll, even more so than JD. There's hardly anything more empowering than stumbling around with a half gallon of Jim Beam in your hand.

To get high, there's nothing like Rum from french carribean islands: Dillon (55%) Trois Rivières.
Try 4 shots of "ti punch" and you're done. 1/3 Liquid sugar, slices of green lemon, 2/3 Rum. No ice.
Bacardi tastes like petrol.

straight vodka (finlandia when possible). dimple or glenfiedich on the rocks when it comes to whiskey. i don't like other superalcoholics like gin or rum much. i'm not a cocktail lover either 'cause sugared stuff (like coke or juices) mixed with alcohol give me a terrible hangover. i prefer to alternate whiskey and beer when it's one of these nights. i must say that i will drink whatever magic potion a club offers without probs though. some healthy elitism is good but i'm a humble guy after all. in a not so much unrelated note most clubs' drinks suck cause they sell bad alcohol. at least they do in countries like greece, italy and spain which is were my experience comes from. they just buy discount stuff and put it in the original bottles. it took me years of drinking and devastating hangovers to arrive to this conclusion. heh.

Sambuca (sp) the black kind. I love that stuff. Over the weekend I had a terrible shot called a Kicken Chicken. It was Wild Turkey, 151, and grenadine from color. It was horrible and made me dizzy five minutes after the fact.

Yuck, when I was 18 I fell for the good ole 'prarie fire' shot gag. Its tequila and tobasco sauce, gross.

that's funny. a friend of mine is a BIG fan of the Jack. we have this ongoing joke that when he drinks Jack Daniels, a character named "Jack" takes over his body.
"Am I talking to you or am i talking to Jack?"
it's not completely a joke though.

Jim Beam is pretty damn good. I have gone off JD recently, prefer Bells, or famous grouse (its also a bit cheaper)
Amarreto (sp!?) is gorgeous
