the "i have to agree w/ kiki here - you may not get your best work out, but it is important to try and write every day if thats what you do. plus, the only way to get past the 'block' is to work through it. quitting writting and resigning yourself to failure is just plain lazy" thread

I am talking about my guitar, it's not something I do for a living (not sure this got to that) and I was advised not to play it when you are tired or just are not in the mood, otherwise you will just get frustrated and hate it even more.
You just get some periods like that.

the "i totally disagree. i also write music, not for a living, and i find that the best way to write good music is to write a lot of it. now, if you're struggling one day, pick up the guitar and play some music you enjoy to play. play that for awhile and have FUN playing. once you're having fun, then just try messing around. play while watching tv and just futz around and you'd be surprised how often something good will come out of it" thread

every time i go to the video store i totally blank out. even though i actually do keep lists of movies i want to see. i always forget to bring the list.. plus, it's hard not to sit there and brouse forever [for me at least])

Antonios, have you considered the Netflix route? I've signed up for something similar over here and its pretty good. I got one where there's no deadline for sending the DVD's back, and you're always in possession of at least three films to watch. It's pretty cool. I'll be blitzing the 'i just watched...' thread from now on.
Barton fink though, I watched that a couple of years ago while at university. I had to join up to the library at the Barbican Centre in London for my thesis, and they also had a fairly well stocked video library there. I was able to rent some great stuff there, from the great and insane (Fitzcarraldo) to the kinda rubbish but still insane (Cecil B Demented).
