I have yet to attend one, my first being Nov 9th (CANT WAIT!)
Anyway, my question is, if the place is small enough, does the band hang around the club afterwards or do they always immediately go up to their lil band room or just leave

After the show they seems to go back to the room for 5-15 minutes, then come out and pack up their gear and sometimes talk with friends and fans. |

I talked to Eric Drew Feldman and Dave Philips after their gig in Chicago. Two very nice guys. |

the last time i saw them, frank was actually hanging out with the crowd before the show, right in front of the stage. he was just chatting.
and by the way, i'll be seeing him on nov. 8th, my second show, and i can't wait. |

I would say it depends on the show, and their overall mood, etc. I also spoke to EDF and hung out with Dave P after the Chicago shows, Dave P is very approachable and friendly. He usually is the first to 'surface' after the end of a set to start breaking down the gear. But once I was at a show where they did no encore and no one came out. Finally we left, pretty disappointed. I saw Dave P outside smoking a butt, but everyone else seemed to be in hiding. So, I guess you really can never know for sure. Hanging around afterwards is definitely your best option if you have the time and patience!

yah at the last philly show there was no encore and they were nowhere to be found. though the whole practice of encores is pretty rediculous, you cant blame frank really for not doing one when he just played like a 2+ hour set which a lot of bands these days dont even accomplish encore included

They probably aren't too hard to find before the show either, I think a lot of the time they eat at places around the venue, not that you should interrupt them when they eat haha |

I'll be at the Philly show. It'll be nice to meet up with the rest of you that will be there. Regarding Frank and how friendly he is, well, understandably he is busy and tired immediately after shows. But, if you are patient, usually after they load the van he comes over to sign a few autographs and say a few words. He's a really nice guy, based on when I've seen him. Very graciously accepted the few words I said to him.

I'll most likely be going to the Philly show and at least 1 of the DC shows. We'll see once it gets closer to the time. |

I saw Frank in Louisville Ky. back in April (I think the official date was the 29th). Anyways, he played at a place called the Phoenix Hill Tavern, a really nice bar with a really cool, laid back atmosphere. Anyways, I live in south-central Ky. and Louisville is actually about a 2 and a half hour drive from where I'm at, so me and a friend left for the gig early that afternoon so that we would be assured of getting in.
Anyways, we got there quite early and spotted a couple of vans, one a newer white looking van and both had California tags so we assumed that Frank and co. were there. Anyways, we walked in, got our tickets in the lobby and walked through the doors leading into the bar/stageroom area and I looked to my immediate right and there was good ole Frank himself. I actually had to do a double take cause I was so surprised to just casually walk in and look up and viola', there he is right in front of me loading in some gear. Anyways, he looked directly at me for a couple of seconds and I personally felt as though he didnt want to be approached as he was busy loading in gear and all so I just kind of nodded my head at him and went and found myself a good seat and watched while the band finished loading the rest of the gear in. I kinda regret not getting a picture taken with him, I'm sure he wouldn't have minded, but I just didn't wanna disturb him at the time.
After the gig, it was raining like hell out, so we didnt really even attempt to hang around and meet with the band or anything. |
