i thought it would be cool to check out some non english speaking bands out there, if you know a good band from your country available on kazaa or likewise please please post it and maybe a small description

my country swedens best alternative rock band is called Bob Hund, to bad so few understand their great lyrics :( , allthough they have a few demos on kazaa under the name Bergman Rock where they sing in english, check out the song crab. can't wait for their upcoming release!!

If you want download the song "Nånting måste göras" by Bob Hund and tell me what you think. (sings with funny swedish accent with some kind of surf/pop/rock tunes, it's so great)

Non-English Belgian bands I like :

Gorki, once known as Gorky - check out the song Mia
't Hof van Commerce - you should download "kom mor ip"
Starflam - Their language is French - Belgium has 3 languages you know
Raymond Van't Groenenwoud - His song "Twee Meisjes" (or 2 Meisjes) is probably the best song in Dutch ever
Spinvis - just getting to know this band, the singer has weird lyrics, for instance the track "Voor ik vergeet", where he has a line about accidentically putting a tictac (=candy) inside of his nose on his birthday. You can feel the pain he went trough :)

Well that's about it... Some other good stuff is available, but they're not really worth mentioning since no one will download it anyway :)

Again I will bring up my friends Babaloo (www.punkmambo.com) - they sing in many languages, the lead singer is French and they play songs which are in Spanish, Porteguese, French (d'uh) and Arabic, among others...

Kraftwerk are a pretty cool non-English band, though they did start to sing in English the second half of their career. Can are kind of a German/Japanese/English mix, but they're great too.

Does anyone know Brainpower? He's a hiphop artist from the Netherlands, rapping in Dutch, and recently did a song together with Nas. It's called "One Mic".

Nooo! I knew someone would mention Dyonisos. Avoid at all costs! Well, people who don't understand French might like them. Noir Desir are cool though.
There are a few very good French hip-hop artists. Check out TTC (signed on Ninja Tune), La Rumeur, La Caution and Stupeflip.
Great singers/songwriters: Etienne Daho, the obvious Serge Gainsbourg...
Best punk band ever: Les Wampas.
