Today I went into my record store and asked if they had any Frank Black singles on CD vinyl etc. This is what I got:
The Marsist Vinyl Limited Edition Number 98 Men In Black Vinyl
All My Ghosts CD Hand On To Your Ego Maxi CD Men In Black 1/2 (Ones Limited to 10000 or something) Headache I Dont Wanna Hurt You Promo CD DW Promo CD (Velvety spelt wrong on cover)
I think maybe there was something else but I can't remember what. Anyway I was wondering if any of this stuff is rare or something. Also I was wondering what everyone else had in terms of singles etc. |

Sorry this doesn't totally answer your question, but it sort of sprung another question I've had. Are any of Frank's albums readily available on vinyl? I scour used record stores all day, and I can always find vinyl stuff by most everyone, but NEVER anything by Frank or even the Pixies. I'm not one of those vinyl only people, but I think it's a lot of fun hearing an album you love on vinyl too, sort of gives it a different perspective (and can sound even better sometimes). |

i've got most of the Pixies stuff on vinyl.. my most prized piece of vinyl is my the John Peel Sessions from 1988 that has this bizarre picture of Charles Manson with three heads on it. and all these other weird, detailed drawings on it (including Hitler and Jesus).. anyone seen that? the tracks are dead, tame, there goes my gun and manta ray.
the only thing rivaling that is another peel session single from 1988 put out by "Discos El Sucko" in Santa Fe New Mexico. on the cover is a creepy black and white picture of Hitler posing with a little girl. Wild Honey Pie, In Heaven, and Hey.. i wonder what was up with the Hitler imagery from the era.. and if Frank had much to do with the cover art choice.
and i've also got a vinly copy of Doolittle that i got when i was in Greece.. and it's got all this greek writing on it, which i guess is the distributer information and stuff.. that's kind of cool..
ok.. enough reveling.
i think vinyl is "cool".. but i don't really buy much because i do most of my listening in my car anyway.. and would just rather have a CD..

I've got a Pixies picture disc LP on vinyl that I'll be selling soon. It has an interview with Blackie on both sides. I'm going to get it transferred to digital and probably upload it to FTP in the near future before it goes.
