We know he loves them. Does anyone know of any other besides: 1. Ana 2. Speedy Marie 3. Valley of Our Hope 4. Robert Onion
ps. Valley was fun to figure out even though I still haven't heard it.

An acrostic is when characters are arranged in rows such that the first letter of every word spells out one single word. this technique can be found in many of franks songs listed chronologically above
maybe that makes it clearer

"A poem or series of lines in which certain letters, usually the first in each line, form a name, motto, or message when read in sequence." I never got why he said Ana was an anagram, I don't remembering seeing any anagraming going on. |

Yup, but 'swu' takes a little more investigative work, but not much.
Hey this is about FB no BÖC. {slaps self in back of head} :)

Hey Mike, nice acrostic edit. I guess he named it Ana cause Acro or Stic doesn't have a double meaning. Like Ana, to someone reading along to the song and not realizing the SURFER, could think it's just the name of the girl he is singing about. That's what I thought when I first heard it.
debaser, a hint: it's more to do about BÖC not FB

I totally forgot all about this post.
Soft White Underbelly is correct. From 1967 to 1968 Blue Öyster Cult where known as Soft White Underbelly. A new singer brought a new band name. During the 70's and 80's they used Soft White Underbelly at small clubs in the NYC area. There hardcore fan base knew who SWU really were. And I remember the radio promos hinting at who they really were but would stop short at telling you it was really BÖC and not a cover band.

This is the original post from Abstract Plain. I was turned onto it a few months ago and it took me a few days to figure out the acrostic. I e-mailed my answer to Charles and his answered to me was "good job". He didn't correct any mistakes if there were any or add anything that I probably missed.
Enjoy if you haven't tried this one yet. I left it the original way he typed it up so you'll probably have to use a program like MS Word to paste it to and move the lines around to make sense. Have fun.

Hey thanks, Mr. Underbelly. Glad you didn't post the "answer" yet, since I'd like to try and figure it out at least. So are there also anagrams in there as "nemo" suggests? Well, a casual perusal at least shows one subject to be "an underwater guy who controlled the sea," eh? Or at least shares the name. I have a pair of really cool action figures that are related. Maybe I post them some time. I think they're by Mezco.

I forgot to ask. You mentioned that Frank gave you a "good job" when you sent the solution to the acrostics in "Valley of Our Hope." Did you send him your whole analysis, including your theory on the subjects of the lyrics (arf-arf meow) and the numerical significance? Just curious to see if your theories were correct or at least close.
Nice job, by the way. I would have never been able to figure it out (not the acrostics, but the interpretation part).

"Snooch to the Nooch"
Maybe I don't understand what an anagram is, but there are at least a few, as far as I can tell.
"Blank Rack F" or if one letter words don't count: "Brank Flack"
brank n. A device consisting of a metal frame for the head and a bit to restrain the tongue, formerly used to punish scolds. Usually used in the plural.
flak (also flack) n. Antiaircraft artillery. The bursting shells fired from such artillery. Informal. Excessive or abusive criticism. Dissension; opposition.
There are other meanings too. Granted thet aren't cool like Old West Action and Clint Eastwood, but I believe they're there.

I sent everything. Pie charts, graphs & twenty seven eight-by-ten colour glossy photographs with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one explaining what each one was.

I broke it down into three parts. Get a crackin'. It is more in depth than Robert Onion.
