i've seen frank black six times now, up and down the east coast over the last 4 years. he puts on an incredible show. and i've never walked away disappointed. but i just downloaded some european live tracks (from that 8th day god created frank black site) and he seems to have delivered a more powerful rendition of songs then what i remembered him doing in the states, especially on if it takes all night and manta ray. the crowd is more responsive, and people sing along. i usually hate it when people sing at shows, but in this european case it seems kind of fun. perhaps its the crowd that is the difference; they seem more into it and not there just to hear old pixies songs. i recall frank black saying in an interview that he thinks that his french fans are best. if you don't have them already, check out some of those european live tracks. i have a great time at frank black shows, but do you think he may perform with more energy in europe than in the states?

I've seen Frank only once in the UK (even though i'm french) but the show was pretty good, and Frank was really nice, the rendition of Where is my mind weas absolutely fantastic, so he must like Europe best ! Well the black session he did in Paris was described by the organizer of the show as the best black session ever, VIVE LA FRANCE !
