i think he uses takamine's but for some reason i thought i remember hearing that the one with the hole was different. takamines are good though if your thinking about a new acoustic. but of course if you have enough money those taylor ones are a lot nicer:)
frank told me in c'ville If I was going to get a good acoustic electric "get a Takamine but that just my opinion". he said he didn't like the godins something about something broke on it easy.
I'm pretty sure he's had the Takamine forever. I remember when he brought it out at one show, back when he didn't play it often...I think it was Philly in June 15 2000. He might have said something along the lines of it being from the Pixies days.
I taped a telephone mic in my sisters old, beat up spanish guitar. apply tremolo by bending whole guitar, some large parts of wood came out and it still sounds groovy.
