hello HH - at school, in class, bah humbug - who'd have thought HTML would be so dry? (note the extreme sarcasm) good luck scouting out the man andy. awake yet mere? i've been up for hours now and i'm still half asleep - thats the story of my life lately, half asleep. today i plan on buying a harmonica (this guy in my class looks JUST like "the splean" from mystery men, aka paul reubens, aka pee wee herman. it cracks me up!) and a new CD. maybe some jazz. we'll see

Appreciate the compliment, but I decieve people into thinking I'm responsible. I still sneak in as much time as humanly possible playing Max Payne and posting on this forum, when the baby doesn't need anything for a moment or two.

I had Mud n' Bugs for breakfast the other morning, which is probably no better than Berry Kix. Ever had it?

Props to the glacial and his Max Paynery. And to Stu for trying to find it. And the Cult of Frank for recommending it. Why do you look surprised, you knew that was coming.

Haha! The Spleen! I wouldn't be able to keep a straight face in class. Does he just look like Paul Rubens or does he specifically resemble The Spleen? I didn't think my husband was going to make it through Mystery Men--he has a terrible weakness for comic farting and giggles himself to near-hysteria. It's his Achilles heel--I can dispel any foul mood instantly w/a well-timed elbow fart. Sad, sad, sad.

he looks SPECIFICALLY like the spleen, but he could also pass for the second host of Beat the Geeks, the best-shortlived-nerd trivia show EVER

now i'm putting in some major hours at the radio station i work for - at least SMYT is in the heavy rotation and they have Doolittle and Bossanova on vinyl - i'll have to "request" it (ie. force a newbie DJ into playing it - i'm their boss and they can't stop me!)

ah, power trips

mud n' bugs is the cereal inspired by a Disney movie, I can't remember the name right now. Whatever the movie that the warthog is from. And there's another creature that hangs out with him...some sort of simian creature.

Ah, The Lion King. I usually try to stick with the sensible, boring cereals (Cheerios, Wheaties, Chex, yawn. . .) but I do love me some Cocoa Krispies every now and again.

That's the stuff, Brian. Bend them to your will!

i'm thoroughly dissappointed right now - when i trained this one DJ she was really cool, nice, funny, and very cute (not that i was looking...), and today she's all slutted up and putting on an attitude in front of one of her friends...i hate when people appear so cool then can be so phony...

on an upnote it looks like i'm going to see jonathan richman in a few weeks! and built to spill on monday!

I have heard alot of talk about Johnothan Richman, especially on this board. Who is he?

Also, who is Andrew W.K...?

Mereubu, my daughter's favorite food in the world right now is regular old Cheerios. She eats the hell out of them. I don't know if she would like Wheaties.

Yeah, Z loves those cheerios too.

Here's a good, informative thread about Jonathan Richman (see in particular the post by peter radiator. Also, he played the troubador in There's Something About Mary, so you may have seen him there.) He's a marvel.

Andrew W.K. is scary. I actually used to work with his brother in law (such a boring straight laced guy!) - but anyway, Andrew W.K. is this dirty dude who sings loud songs. I don't know how else to describe him.

Jonathan Richman is fabulous. I love New England!

Thanks, mereubu!

My daughters first b-day is Oct. 25. It'll be so cool, now that she's old enough to like things like that. Last year, the holidays, while cool, were not that exciting, because she was only a month or two old around Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. I remember on my b-day, which was Aug. 09, she really enjoyed ripping open all my presents.

Thanks, guys! Zelda's a happy girl today--besides the b-day, she finally learned how to swing herself at the park yesterday and put herself to bed last night. I guess my work here is done. :-)

glacial, you've got fun times ahead. Lots of "firsts." By Christmas she'll be old enough to get really crazy with the wrapping paper.

Em, you should surf all day and sit at your desk and do your nails. They don't deserve you.

Happy Friday, Henhouse!

No, for some obscure reason he and the other band members are avoiding children's play parks. It is a pity - wee C would sing Bartholomew and Horrible Day to them all.

tell zelda happy birthday mere, she sounds like she's becoming quite a little lady.

em, enjoy your last day, steal some pens and staplers, waste company dime and then never look back.

andy, keep on the FB lookout - be a good stalker and report back on the situation

as for me, i'm hoping to go see Lost in Translation tonight if its playing around here (stupid slow Pittsburgh) and then tomorrow take in one of my fav. local singer/songwriters and some good beer. what's everyone else's weekend plans?

Have a good weekend, Brian - I liek the sound of that banquet. Apart from taking the kids out I think I will spend my time searching the local papers for any gigs next week by combos such as Death to Reunion or Chuck and the Celts. I might take in a few bars and espresso joints at the same time.

Em, you're going to the UK? How exciting! Is that why you quit? You can have my job when you get back since you're a fellow expert at pushin paper around.

Happy 5th Zelda, btw my son would love that name for his little sis, that's his very favourite video game, how'd you pick it out?

I dunno, I've just always liked the name. Then I found out that it means "battle maiden," which pretty much clinched it for me. It seemed like a good wacky-but-takes-no-shit kind of name. I didn't know about the video game until after she was born, but she's a big hit with teenaged boys everywhere.
I think Annabelle is a beautiful name (did I spell it right?) blackpurse has Stella, and I think that's a great name too.

Yup that's right, Anna is kinda a family name. Annabelle sounds so old fashioned and she is such a little shit disturber. I almost wanted to name her Starla, cuz I like that Smashing Pumpkins tune so much.

Did blackpurse have that baby yet? or is that Stella?
