They just sound like a troublesome, high-maintenance device to me, and I don't even want to think about how you would go about cleaning them. Blecch.
Switching the conversation to cavities of a very different sort, I went to the dentist today and have been pronounced cavity-free. I plan to drink Coke and eat caramels for the rest of the day in celebration. |

the frank show was incredible. absolutelty breath taking. 39 complete songs (plus a few aborted ones). and i got to chat w/ zanni and jeremy from the bennies and take a picture w/ mr. black himself. check out the live section for the setlist...
how's everyone else doing here today?

i don't think that was me - i was on the other side of the stage and had plenty of paper :)
i'll go through what the new songs sounded like -
the snake was the most "riff" oriented of the new ones (kinda like nadine) - it was good, but didn't stand out as much as some of the others
my favorite kiss was very cool - this one has been mentioned before w/ the lyrics "7 more days till i'm in baltimore, 2 more weeks i'm in dallas/ft. worth, in one more minute i'll be gone" - mellow n good
when will happiness find me again was very somber and quiet - this is a total assumption, but the lyrics ALMOST sounded 9/11 inspired - something about danger in the city and going into the country (i had 4-5 drinks in me so my memory isn't that spectacular of the lyrics)
don't clip your wings to me isn't that impressive - the refrain has an echo part "don't clip your wings (higher octave, probably sung by Dave McC w/ the Catholics) don't clip your wings" that sort of reminds me of "i love your brain" but sadder
i think those are all the new new ones, since most people have heard nadine, horrible day, massif centrale and new house of the pope

Heh-heh. We're actually up to 8 now, but I think we've reached burnout level. We haven't been getting enough sleep and I really just want to watch some TV tonight. I've had a truly awful day and I wish I could just push a button and fast forward to tomorrow morning (or rewind to this morning) so that I can start over. Mothering sucks sometimes. |

Ahahahaaaaaaa! I love it! Yeah, that'll really keep them out! (Actually, it probably WILL keep them out once they realize that mostly we just bitch about work in here.)
Back to the pubes issue. I think as long as things are kept reasonably, um, tidy, then it's fine. The idea of shaving it all off kind of creeps me out. I think our culture puts kind of a weird amount of effort into hair removal. (I try to balance this by being more, ahem, European about it during the winter months. I see no reason to break out that razor before tank top season.)
Anyway, all this talk of pubes made me remember John Ruskin, the poor bastard. Ruskin was a 19th C. English art critic (champion of the Pre-Raphaelites) who was also batshit insane. For one thing, he had been romantically obsessed with this woman for years, but once they married, he was unable to consummate the union b/c he was so utterly freaked out by the fact that she had pubic hair! None of the art that he had seen had even remotely prepared him for the shocking sight of his beloved's pubes. The marriage eventually had to be annulled. Also, Ruskin was a compulsive masturbator, and the Victorians had many nasty notions about what masturbation might do to a person--blindness, insanity, hairy palms, etc. Anyway, he couldn't leave himself alone but believed it was wrong, so his own sexual repression pretty much drove him insane.
I'm not really going anywhere with this--I just like telling the story. If there were any sort of moral, it would just be: Weed out unruly hairs, but don't get all freaky about it.

When I turned 21, everyone gave me alcohol as a gift, and I've never understood that. It would have been much more useful to me when I was 19 or 20. That and my parents gave me a vacuum cleaner. Talk about an ominous welcome to adulthood! "Here, honey, we're sending you out into the wilderness with booze and cleaning implements--now you're ready for anything!' 21 was a good year, though. Graduated and got married. My Hoover and I were ready to take on the world. |

Oh, happy almost Birthday, Brian! My 21'st birthday was a party my dad threw and afterwards all my girlfriends (who are all older than me) and I decided we wanted margaritas so we walked to a dinky liquor store in the Latino neighborhood near my dad's house. We were 8 or so gals in summer dresses and we got more than one cry of "Hello, ladies!" Heh.
18+ might be appropriate for the HH. I don't know if I need the guilt of perverting the youth with talk of butt plugs and oral sex. |

the drinking HAS started and its 9:30 am - i actually just had a shot at midnight last night but the real drinking starts tonight around 6pm. the shit thing is that most of my friends haven't turned 21 yet or have to work in the morning. so its going to be lonely drunk brian tonight
