i thought about the composing a song thing, but she lives in baltimore, so i have to ship whatever it is down there from pittsburgh, so i'd have to record it and all that blah blah blah and it just wouldn't be as nice

it went alright - we're sounding really brit pop-ish which isn't bad but like i said its just not my favorite - hey its better than sounding like metal i guess

belle and sebastian, mellow beatles, my friend jeff is really into coldplay so that comes through in his vocals sometimes
i just wish we were more varied - but hey its this or nothing, so i'm making the best of it

i have lots of negative money. you lucky rich peoples! And my computer is giving me massive grief.

all i've done is listening to my roommate figure out intervals on his piano - i've got a killer headache and i'm tired BUT i started to read a really interesting book of short stories called "dog walker" by arthur bradford. i like it

Ah, recreational reading. . .can summer come soon enough? Between getting ready to teach and actually doing it, I haven't read a novel in a year. It's either Chekhov or Entertainment Weekly (my no longer secret shame!) :-) |

i find the best way to recreationally read during the school year is just to set aside something like a half hour a day to read/veg out/listen to music - thats how i manage to do it

Man, there must be something in the air today. I worked on lectures all weekend up until bedtime last night and then got up extra-early to finish this a.m. only to put five of the sheeple to sleep this morning, and only half of the history class showed up. Fuck it. I may as well have had a decent weekend with my family. It may just be the PMS talking, but if they're not going to make the effort, why should I? Grrrr.
Hope your connectivity is restored by tomorrow, Andy. It's so strange how dependent we are on this relatively new technology. A day without internet is like a day without an opposable thumb. Ah, the modern age. . . |

Sweet... still in negotiations with some buddies but I am very hopeful to get some of them on board. Out of curiousity where is the venue? Downtown or another area? Are there hotels (preferably cheap hotels) around the venue?
... you'll have to excuse me I know nothing about Pittsburgh other than the penguins and apart from that I have no idea of the town or it's setup etc...

its in the "strip distrcit" which is right off of downtown - the city is really hard to naviate if you don't know where you're going because the districts all kinda run together. whoever designed it is a damned fool...
as for hotels - there's a motel 6 about 20 minutes away - there is a marriot (read - expensive) closer but you might want to stay outside the city and save some money
there might be a hostel...i'll ask around...
