Hey, Andy! How is all with the Percenters?
We're doing fine, Miss Zan--just juggling and trying to keep it all in the air. |

Not very good news really. He did give me a ride home and did his usual "I don't know what to say" (after having heard a mouthful from the aforementioned drunk best friend). I told him maybe he shouldn't say anything - cause I don't think there is anything left to say. The rest of the ride was a very loud silence. As Sarah would say, "feh".
I think I am getting over it. But it sucks.

Sorry, Em. That totally sucks and I feel blue for you. I sing a chorus of Jonathan Richman's "You Can't Talk to the Dude" in your honor, and to your "feh," I add a "chuh!"

Thanks, dearone. I feel blue too but it's like he's just STUCK, he doesn't know which way to go. It's just hard to let it all go, because I know whatever THAT THING (attraction, chemisty, whatever) is, IT is there. Ugh.

I think we should rename this topic ANGST...
Sorry to hear about that Em. And poor Steve. Feh-chuh, and as Em would say: bummah.
Feel better all, XOXO, Zan P.S. No offense about the angst thing, I was trying to bring a little FB humor to the situation... God knows I have a lot of my own. |

Yeah, chemistry is some tricky shit. . .it keeps you wondering. Damned boys.
Hang in there, sweetie. I must go cook while reading Ibsen. <sigh> I'll talk to you in the a.m.

Zanni, just emailed you the whole blah story. Yay.
Thanks, Sarah. Is nice to know I have friends out there in Cyberland.
Okay, lovely peeps, I am going to sign off for the night. Take a shower and decompress and then get lost in Alias. And then sleep!
If anyone knows how to stop being completely obsessed and absorbed with something (or someone), please let me know. It has been like 8 months now and I AM TIRED.

Steve, have a few pints, go around his house, drag the guy into a half nelson and tell him in no uncertain terms to leave your bird alone.... then go and find your bird and take her out for a meal.
Nah, just kidding.... Thats happened to me before, and I hate it as you know full well that the 'ex boyfriend' has only one thing on his mind. Problem is that if you mention your concerns to your bird (even in a jokey manner) then they go off on one and claim that you don't trust them. Just ride with it friend, I'm sure that its not as bad as you think. Obviously, (and I don't want to be negative here) if things do go wrong then you've got to go for him in a Rocky style dust up, to show him whose boss!
Be cool, it happened to me once, and I wasn't cool and I lost my bird of 2 years (saying that, she did end up getting together with that tosser and practically cutting my heart it two in the process, so maybe I had grounds to go on the offensive in the first place). |

Ramona, there is no simple way out of this one..... if its a bloke then go out and get another one that will take your mind off it. Obsession is a horrible thing to happen, if all else fails, rent out Fatal Attraction and take tips from Glen Closes performance ( on how not to let your obsession spiral out of control.... don't go boiling any rabbits). Time is the painful factor here I'm afraid.

Hmmm, not a happy HH. I missed my creative dance at the weekend, but that hardly compares with everything cited above!
Reading Ibsen whilst cooking tops them all.
We've had quite a lot of snow yesterday - I wish I was sledging with the girls.
Hope everyone is better today. |

I would love some snow. I think the window of opportunity is closing for this winter; Saturday was warm & sunny. Speaking of my sad, sad multi-tasking, (really, what's next--reading Chekhov in the shower?) we went to the park to enjoy the weather and Zelda & Bobby played chase; I paced the field while grading papers. Uck.
If I'm going to survive this semester, I either need more sleep, more sex, or to start smoking again (which is not even an option.) I know--sex while sleeping!
Happy Monday, all! |

Beckett in the bath?
I suspect you had a shagfree weekend as well? Maybe I will try Bernard Shaw on the bidet as a substitute. We will need to get a bidet first. |

I'll see if I can devise some analogous horror--we read Shaw next week.
I actually had a shagtastic Friday night, but again at an ungodly late hour that I can now barely remember. It's like my stunt double is having a decent sex life. |

You expect sympathy from me??!!If only my stunt double was so active. My prediction of two bonks in February is looking as likely as Sophocles on a sledge. |

Surely you'll at least get the birthday bonk? Sophocles on a sledge! You crack me up, Andy. I think I'll start using that. . .it will supplant "Jumping jesus on a pogo stick!" |

The birthday bonk - or should that be b/day with Bernard Shaw as above? - might have to be delayed! The day is very close, and my dearest is not 100%! I have told her that 10% is more than enough for me, as yet to no avail.
I would stick with jumping Jesus! |

When is your birthday? We'll have to throw you a little Henhouse shindig. Poor V--I hope she feels better soon.
This weekend I heard, "Jesus H. Christ with biscuits and gravy!" I like that one, too.
You're right, I really shouldn't complain. I know for a fact that there was once a complete sex blackout of five months when Z was a baby, and then another of about three months in the second year. Ah, parenthood! |

Lunchtime! Good luck with the class, Sarah. An electrical cattle prod is a useful device for keeping order and maintaining the students' interest.
Failing that, RIBBIT. |

Oh, that kind of not 100%! Well then, you may just have to resort to the pretend post-sex gambit. (Trust me--if you do that enough nights in a row, it will finally shame you into having real sex.)
How old will you be, Mr. Methusaleh? |
