This is probably unethical and inhumane and the like but hey,they deserve it.
I think when found guilty they should(assuming they're men)have their left testicle removed,with only a local anaesthetic so they can see it all,then get warned if they do it again the other one comes off.
Any thoughts?

Yeah...and with the amount of women who lie about being raped/molested...etc...I think there would be too many innocent 1-testicled men walking around..

Hmm? I believe the stats are:
For every woman who reports a true rape there is one who reports a false one and three women who are afraid to come forward who really were raped. Both sexes have their plunders...*sigh* Life blows.

there's no justice system that can distinguish with 100% accuracy a guilty from an innocent.maybe unfair for the victims but i prefer 10 guilties out of prison to an innocent in.far too many cases of innocent people paying for a crime they didn't commit.i will not comment the legalization of violence as punishement for whatever crime.if you kill a killer in what way are you different from him?human law is not and cannot be an excuse to perpetrate sadism.(see death penalty)

Well it isn't actually violence,and you have to admit some people do deserve it.Try and see it from the families pov,if some sicko was fiddling with your 3 year old daughter,you wouldn't be able to hand out enough punishment to fit the crime

Anyway. I thinnk all peodephiles and sex offenders should be named, and there should be some sort of website, where a data base of them, their record, and their whereaboutrs is, whcih gets updated frequently.
Also I think posters of any new offenders should be put up everywhere in the area...
But ya know, they say that most children are molested by someone they know...usually a family friend or member, which, from the people I know of is very true..theres ono way round it.

try and see if they give you the chair and you are innocent.family vengeance isn't a good advisor for law.unless you consider mafia the best justice system.though i understand family pain it cannot be used as an excuse to go on commiting the same crimes you should be punishing(or hopefully avoiding).you just can't fight fire with fire.

I agree with Jim, I don't think it's a good idea. I mean, it's not because they have testicles that they commit these awful crimes. I have a pair of testicles, but I never think of (believe me) raping children. I think these guys are really seriously disturbed. You could also remove their eyes - it would be difficult to rape children if they arer blind. But justice is not about becoming butchers. If by punishing people that you can probably consider as monsters, we become monsters ourselves, I don't think it's a good evolution. I don't see why mutilation would be a privileged means of punishment. Think about it, why mutilation?
You can also treat criminals in a civilised way without being too soft, I guess.

Oh and I don't think it has anything to do with a strong message we send to them (if you do it again, you lose your next testicle). It is VERY simplistic. If this guy is really nuts, and I guess you have to be, then he doesn't give a fuck about being warned. It's not like a guy who didn't pay his taxes or something. We are talking about deeply disturbed people.

I have a good story about this. During my second year of studies in Toulouse, a girl who studied with me reported a rape. She was allegedly raped in the toilets, by two guys who forced her to a fellatio. In a street close to the place where I was studying (curiously, all these horrible things took place in a rather nice part of Toulouse, which is a quite peaceful city), a guy was raped, and he had a nervous breakdown and committed suicide soon after (I guess it's more difficult for guys, for two reasons). I was so scared after that : each time I was going out, I had to take that street to come back home .

Once again, I think that it is really not a matter of calculation where the rapist weights the pleasure of the rape and the punishment he risks. Once again, they are really seriously sick. It doesn't mean we should show compassion, but I consider the death penalty more humane than mutilation, which really makes me sick. You have to consider the guilty person as a man, in his integrity, even if he's a horrible criminal. By mutilating, you dishumanise him (correct my English if there's a mistake) and I think that if you want to judge someone as a RESPONSIBLE human being, you have to consider him as human in his integrity. By considering him as a combination of organs that you can cut, burn, remove etc, you don't consider him as a responsible person, more like an animal.
From a philosophical (moral) as well as practical point of view, I think mutilation should be banned.

Much as I loathe sexual offenders of children, I don't believe maiming them will do any good. Something deep and sinister drives them, and modern "mental health" practitioners don't have a clue what it is or how to solve it-- look at the number of repeat offenders.
I believe locking them up is the best solution for now. The prison population has it's own way of dealing with child molesters, and I'd consider it more harsh than a testicle removal.

People who abuse children are sick and cutting off their balls would make no difference.
Many of them cannot control their urges and have had an abusive experience themselves.This does not excuse their behaviour and does not mean that they deserve compassion. They should be locked up so they can be kept away from children, however i find the idea of death or mutilation really rather sick.
I think it is demeaning to kill another human being and drags you down to their level of animal instincts.
I also agree with however said that justice should not be dictated or decided on the basis of a family's anger, however understandable that anger may be.

the naming and 'postering' is just another type of 'not on my doorstep' type mentality. by doing that you force them to go into hiding, or to another area, making it harder for the police to keep track of them... not an ideal situation at all.
i see what crouton was saying earlier... there have been *so* many people accused and then inprisoned *before* trial, waiting for their trial date to come, not allowed bail because they're deemed a danger, based on one persons accusation... if you're going to start chopping people's balls off then you need a pretty tight and impressive trial system with very little room for error...

And by the way, men can absolutely be raped and by women too! Seems everyone's asshole side is coming out. Chauvinism is also running rampant here lately and what's worse is that the ladies are supporting it. There used to be a time when the world could at least count on women to be decent people but those days are no longer:(

Detesticling would just create a different type of illness. If the punishment can't rehabilitate the offender, its not worth squat.
