I am refering to the above. All the mIRC's I download are damaged. Are there any that are not???Sorry I had to start a new topic but the original one was locked.

Weird. We need to get more people in the FB Chat channel. I've been thinking of setting up a Java IRC client on my website so people can jump in easily.

probably a corrupted download?try to get a trial version of mirc (www.mirc.com)and i'll pass you the serial no.it works fine with me.unless you have a mac.i don't know anything about them

Yeah, I think its kinda tooo much hassel, and once you get there, theres no one there!
A lotr of sites just have a little button you press that say chat and you go straight in to it ...is that not possible here? I dunno, i have no clue about computers and stuff, so maybe im just talking crap or something.

I downloaded irc, but it's quite complicated. Why don't we simply use icq or msn, like everyone else? (it's just a suggestion, i don't like online chatting very much).

actually the initial idea was a chat directly attached to the site.but i'm no good at creating one.it would sure save the forum some stupid posting though.

btw, i made a suggestion months ago, now i suggest everyone actually listen to me.
set a day and a time when we can all join #frankblack and be guaranteed to meet other people in there (because they'll all be joining to).
perhaps on a sunday, at a time when it is quite reasonable in most time zones.
if it works, it's likely to develop and get more popular, and maybe in a year or something people will be on it all the time ('though it also kind of depends on the popularity of the site) |

I'm gonna put up a Java IRC client on my website tonight. I don't think Dave's too keen on making a chat channel cause he loves the forum, but with all the high volume lately, maybe I can budge him on it.

Alright guys, still working out the kinks a little bit, but check out it:

It should be self explanatory. Enter a nickname (forum name, please, no spaces, underscores for spaces), alternate nickname (optional, in case that nickname is taken), and real name (if you feel so inclined), and hit connect. That's all you really need to know. Requires Java. If it brings up any dialog about being signed or unsigned, click Yes.

Only reason i'm hesitant is they all require folks to download some code and run it, and i'm not sure if i'm all that keen on this........

works fine for me, it made me download some java thing or something, but IE did it all automatically, and works...
