well after the debarcle of the sale of the brixton tickets, i was mad, so very very mad.
however, it so happened that friday (Feb 6) was New Zealand's national day - called Waitangi Day, and on saturday people organise a celebration here in London for all ex-pat kiwis to attend - the Circle Line Pub Crawl.
so what better way to forget about the disappointment than to get absolutely pissed with thousands of fellow kiwis - causing havoc in London at the same time.
and my god, it worked a treat.
starts off in notting hill and you have to go all the way round the circle line back to notting hill - 26 stops - having half a pint at a pub at each stop - so 13 pints in all.
i hadn't been on a pub crawl since the one my wife and i organised for our stag/hens night (only 7 months ago, but still), but fuck me, it was a blast!
Of course we never finished it - hardly anyone ever does - we didn't even manage a semi-circle!
But it culminated in a mass haka (if you don't know what a haka is - watch some rugby) in Parliment Square which managed to shut down all traffic in Westminster because for some reason everybody decided to do it in the middle of the fucking road.....but traffic was backup for miles, and several cars overheated and it was just hilarious - of course i was absolutely pissed, so didn't see the inherent danger in the entire episode.
a point to my post?
ah, yes, i was interested in hearing peoples pub crawl stories....
anyone?
