Embarrasing. He couldn't even muster a direct reply on the vast majority of the questions.
Russert did what I thought impossible - made Dubya look like even more of a buffoon. |

Did'nt see it, just a clip on the news. Apparently he handled himself better than folks expected. I think he probably plays up the cowboy routine anyway, he's probably not as dumb as he looks; after all, he is president. Then again, Swartzenegger is govener of Cal...! Maybe he rigged his election too! |

You don't have to be smart in order to hold elected office in the US. In fact, it's probably a liability. You'd have better success if you just listened to your handlers and did your best to remember what you were told to say (Bush even struggles with this latter part).
It's much more important to be rich. |

BUSH: "We should attack where, now?"
RUMSFELD: "Iraq, Mr. President."
BUSH: "Okay!! Smoke 'em!!" |

Anyone with half a brain would have completely cracked by now, he's definitely got no brains.
Seriously tho, i'd love to find out what goes on in his head. I find with celebrities, they're totally out of touch with reality, since people only tell them what they want to hear.
I don't doubt this is much the same for the president.

That would explain why the Hollywood and New York glitter crews love Clinton and loathe Bush. Does Martin Sheen come to mind? Baldwin? Sarandon? Talk about a list of clones. |

I love how conservatives like to equate Hollywood with a bunch of dumb liberals. How do you explain Arnold Swartznegar, Ronald Reagan, Fred Thompson, and Charlton Heston?
Bush is having a terrible month and a half. Hehe. If this keeps up Cheney will opt out of the 2004 for "health" reasons so that Bush can try to pick a VP that will deliver him a state like PA. |

And I love how you took one persons comment and turned it into "the conservative viewpoint".
You must admit that, on a whole, the Hollywood bunch could be viewed as having a more liberal stance. |

I don't live under a rock. Erebus' posting wasn't my first exposure to the typical conservative viewpoint on liberals and Hollywood. If one turns on Fox News, one will hear it repeated over and over.
And, explain to me how my posting turned the comment into THE conservative viewpoint. They have other viewpoints (some are even honorable, even headed people, such as McCain, too bad Bush smeared him in SC), but they think painting Democrats as Hollywood wack jobs is a good political approach. |

I don't intend to get into a big debate over this. What I meant was how you lumped one guys comment into EVERY conservatives point of view. Basically-generalizing. I agree with you that conserves and libs do have some valid viewpoints that have merit but the main key of this, to me, was how you stereotyped his comment as to imply that this is how every conservative thinks. There are various shades of gray. I haven't watched Fox for quite some time but I thought that they were pushing it on some of the shots they would take on Democrats but I'm sure that CNN and others have done the same thing in turn.
