want to my gf a valentines cd, it doesn't have to be cool sweet music, just kind of love songs and stuff (i know! soppy! but what can you do?), any suggestions? do the rolling stones have a decent love song?

I've got the perfect song for when you fuck up with the gf. I've been on a total Adam Ant kick (feel free to groan away). It's called Wonderful, check it out. |

Men At Work - Blue For You (Don't make fun. It's a very sweet song.)

God Only Knows. In fact, anything by the Beach Boys. Maybe some Nat King Cole or some other jazz odyssey. I can't think of Stones love song off the top of my head...

Buy her The Madcap Laughs by Syd Barrett. "Terrapin" is probably the best love song ever written.

Ya know, the Rolling Stones "Bitch" off of sticky fingers could work. Oooh, there's a couple really lovey songs off of the Blue Hawaii soundtrack, but I got the feeling that's not what yer lookin for. |

I totally agree. Any Beach Boy song.
Im never much good of thinking of 'Love ' songs...because the ones that would bring me to tears...or ones that I fund romantic..arent exactly romantic...
Ohoh, and 'The Rose' by Bette Midler (i think?)
Elvis is always good in my books to I guess.
Can I just say this is very sweet of you! Never had you down as that sort of guy Simon!
I think id just prefer like, a really rare Sonic Youth or velvet underground album ... but what ever rocks her boat! (as long as you get a rockin later on for it...;))

Tom Waits has some romantic songs. I just bought the re-released soundtrack "One From the Heart" which Tom Waits does the music to. I copied that for my girlfriend for v-day (hey! I made a nice label for it so it's not cheap! Plus we might get married someday so we wouldn't need two copies of it)
