Just thought we should mention the whole 40 year anniversary of the Beatles coming to the USA. It's very cool to me how much music changed and how they just opened up this whole new world for the kids back then. I know what it did because my mom was one of those kids, she actually saw them live twice, which is pretty amazing because they didn't tour for very long.
They are playing all Beatles on a radio station here this weekend, they have so much AWESOME material.
Okay, happy rant over!

My mom saw them live once too. Me and her went to see McCartney twice just recently. Great show.
Here's a weird cover album for download and apparently there are more to come: http://www.astroboy.tv/music/

I went with my mom to see McCartney too! We were in the 17th row and my mom's face as we walked closer and closer to the stage was excellent. It was pretty cool to think "I'm seeing a Beatle!"
I just heard that on Monday night David Letterman is going to re-broadcast the entire show of the Beatles on Ed Sullivan. That is very cool. I love Dave.

wow that is all very cool ramona. We were in the balcony at the Fleet Center both times but our viewpoint was excellent!! Where did you see him? I was astounded at the energy that guy had. He put on a show 8000 times better than any young person.

I was at the Fleet Center too - I couldda waved to you! But, alas, I didn't know you then.
I thought it was an excellent show - his voice is still exactly the same and he hits all the high notes. Some of the Wings stuff and his solo work is extreamly sappy but like Frank once said, he's songs are so simply stated (WHY DON'T WE DO IT IN THE ROAD was one Frank mentioned specifically) that they just ring emotionally true.
And like you said, he puts on a good show. He obviously knows the definition of SHOWMAN-SHIP. (is that one word?)

were you the hot broad down in front? I tried to flash you but you were too far away. But seriously, damn! I wish I had thought to ask you guys if anyone was going. We could have met up. I don't really like much of the Wings stuff. Jet and Band on the Run are terrible. Where are you from Ramona? Praps another show sometime.
Showmanship . . . probably one word.

Carl, don't you mean NO crime went down in New York when they were on Sullivan. There was a 10 minute period where no crimes were committed in NY while the Beatles were on Ed Sullivan.

I think he means crime rates went down not that crime was going on/down.

Visited my Dad with my siblings last night, we got drunk, listened to the No.1's album and discussed the Beatles into the early hours...or rather just praised them!! |

Picking a favourite Beatles song is as hard as picking a favourite Pixies song. It's impossible for me!!! |

Here's another "cover" album. Does anyone know what "fake lp" he's referencing here?
