The college radio station was having a big ol' sale the other day, so I went over and found a few CDs that looked amusing, and worth putting $1 towards to see if they were any good. One of the CDs was by a band called A, the title is something like "Vs. the monkey" (I have it in my car and ain't goin' out in the cold to find out what the exact title is). That CD is quite excellent, a bit on the Weezer side, with moogs, but much more punky and diverse. Some songs are really bright sounding, others are IN YO FACE! I also picked up this bizarre single from Brother Love Canal (?) called "I Wanna Fuck". It's got some remixes of the song on it and a few other tunes. It's kinda dance/industrial, kinda funny, kinda stupid, nothing great, but catchy. A novelty record. It's probably supposed to be a lot more shocking than it is. The third disc I bought was called Urban Noise Vol. 1 - Traffic, and has the following bands on it: Cool Hand, Orange Park, Astronaut, Man on Earth, New Vintage, Stellar Tuesday, 383 Stroker, and from what I've listened to so far, isn't that bad, quite good actually. It's fun to sometimes just take chances on random stuff that's cheap and see what gems you can uncover.

A vs Monkey Kong I think its called. They are an English band who had a few hits with the album after Monkey Kong, called Nothing and Starbucks, decent songs, nothing special.

A used to be a good pop-punk band, but the album after 'Monkey Kong' took a few too many nu metal leanings and consequently let the side down. Their first two albums are very good though, the first is entitled 'How Ace Are Buildings', for your future reference. Most specifically, check out Foghorn, Bad Idea and Cheeky Monkey from that record.
Jason Perry, the singer, has been compared to Perry Farrell on the odd occasion - I don't know if you noticed a track called Jason's Addiction on the CD... Actually not funny at all, but a good try.

Jason Perry in my oh so humble opinion always struck me as a twat like the rest of his crap hat wearing band. So even if I wanted to like their songs I couldn't. Lucky for me then, eh?
