They appear to take it out right away...
I mean, I thought my card was being rejected. Well, it was, but only because my previous attempts had bled it dry.
So ticketweb has taken nearly £90 from me.

What were they thinking?
I'm going to T in the Park to see them, but I'm nowhere near as enthusiastic about that as I would be for a proper Pixies gig.
Woah hang on a minute!!! They might announce more dates yet!!! |

I printed the page were it says "All SALES ARE FINAL"and "I AGREE TO PAY...." So therefore i booked my tickets and could probably use it against them, but these big agencies are all a bunch of corporate thieves anyway, and have probably got some way of getting out of it but im not giving up without a fight.

I failed to get tickets as well, Got through to the confirmation screens on Ticket web twice and on Stargeen once but they never confirmed. May be they will put on a few more gigs at larger London venues now they have seen what the demand is. I am dissapointed but not surprised when you consider they shifted 170,000 Red Hot Chilli Pepper tickets in 5 hours a few weeks back.
I'm thinking of booking T in the Park just for a banker to see them at least I'll see Bowie and Muse as well. It is bloody long way to drive though. |

I'm sure they will announce more dates, i mean this whole tour is to make some cash for all concerned, why not milk it for as much as its worth, they could do 5 nights at Brixton and make a killing, especially when the tickets are £30.
I don't understand why they are supporting the RHCP. Maybe they din't realise the selling power they would have on their own. |

Who's the booking agent for the pixies anyway? maybe we could bug them by e-mail or something for a few more dates.

guys, when do they take the money out. now(ish) or when they send the tickets?
as nominated spokesperson for ticketweb... money is taken out at time of processing, so if you got tickets you'll have been charged now. about not getting confirmation, if you call they do a searh, by your name, telephone number or credit card number, and they'll be able to find the details for the order... if they've taken money i'm pretty sure you'll have the tickets, there's no way of taking the money without allocating the tickets, as far as i know.

Guy Nolan your a genius, bug the booking agents or bug anyone who has any power to make the Pixies do more shows.
If the whole tour had been announced it may not have sold out so quickly as people would have just brought tickets to the venue closest to them.
Where do you think new dates would be announced, on NME? |

probably. i'm obviously going to keep an eye out at ticketmaster/ticketweb, and you'll all be first to know if anymore tickets become available or if i hear word of any more dates...
still got my fingers crossed!

i should have said i got my tickets from gigsandtours, do you know what their policy is? hah, i could probably find out myself but i'm lazy. it's just that myd ad used his card, because i bought two tickets and i don't have enough money in my current account for that, and his card expires in march... if they don't charge until later, there could be some problems :s |

hopefully they will be taken down, the £450 one is crazy. they've already had at least 2 emails about it... it's a shame it happened... i have to wonder if i'd have been able to get a ticket or not this morning if it wasn't for the touts. :(

Unfortunately, it's easy money... Just look at the amount of money that's already being bid on these...
Personally, I hope that all the sellers rot in hell, but if you're only going to announce two (relatively) small gigs in a country that has a large number of Pixies/Frank Black fans, then there's money to be made from it...

I've been assured by Ticketweb that they will ring me on Monday after midday. They still have no record of any 'transaction'... and they therefore cannot give me a refund. £29.50 x 3... that's £88.50 that i've been conned out of. I'm still in school and absolutely fuming.
They blame a 'total computer crash'.
I just want to go to a great concert, not waste my time dealing with this bullshit.

I think money came out of the account here too but got no confirmation code.
3 telephones and a net connection here, all trying to get tickets but no joy. Similar story from at least 3 other sources.
If the Academy will insist on making us use Ticketweb, and Ticketweb WILL balls up so spectacularly, the least they could do is provide an announcement on their website to explain the situation, not make their call center guys tell all their customers to call back later when they inevitably have to ring to find anything out.
The wonders of the 'net, people. Ebay and Ticketweb. Love it all.
Melodramatic perhaps I know, but am feeling little else than angry and dissapointed at the moment. Am seriously and genuinely gutted.
Am really pleased for the people here who managed to get tix for the shows though. At least that's SOME the touts didn't get to....

I haven't really considered all the pros and cons of this, but the whole 'tickets on sale, Saturday at 9am - SET YOUR ALARM!' method of selling the tickets doesn't really seem to help anyone. It gives the touts plenty of time to find out, it means all the agency's systems are hit by thousands of people simultaneously and break etc etc.
If the announcement the other afternoon had just been, 'tickets now on sale' the window of opportunity to purchase probably would have been hours rather than minutes, as it would have taken a while for word to spread, and I would think a greater majority would have gone to fans, people using sites like this.
Maybe next time... |

Shit, I never thought it would sell out so quickly, I thought it would take at least a day or two. I'm one of the lucky ones who got a ticket though. Good luck to the unfortunate ones, lets hope for more dates. |
