Ok, I'm manning the phone on Monday to get thru to Ticketweb's customer service line. In theory, I've paid for three tickets with my name on it. Won't have a problem offloading the two spares onto my latest Pixies converts in school.
I'm just angry with the ticket folk.

When will everyone learn Ticketweb is godawful? NME ticketline, mate, run by WayAhead. Got through 9:01, booked tickets 9:03, relaxed with cigarette 9:05.
Seriously though, bad luck to those who didn't get them, but I can't see the Pixies not cashing in further and announcing more UK dates. |

OK I dont actually buy the NME :), used to when I was a student but tired of their cynicism. I just look at the website from time to time - dont see much mention of Frank except when its about the Pixies reunion. |

To be fair Sprite I haven't seen good reviews of FB&C albums in any publication in this country, not just NME.
Oh and Papa we weren't rubbing it in (well I wasn't), just stating how good Wayahead were. That information could be very useful to you when you try for tickets for the next dates/venues to be announced. |

If no more dates are added, i'll just have to buy tickets from a tout. Hold my breath a pay the money, i have to see them and supporting the RHCP will not cut the mustard i'm afraid.
By the way, has one of you joined ebay under the name of tout stopper? Its a good idea but the names a bit of a give away. |

Gracie, a ticket for this gig off a tout would cost a shedload, but good luck.
I remember back in 2002, the night before I flew out to China for the first time my mate and I went out for a few beers in London. My mate had a ticket to see Black Rebel Motorcycle Club at the Astoria, so we decided to check to see how much one cost with a tout. As we were enquiring about the price with one of those scum, a woman appeared from nowhere and informed us she was with Virgin and that she was giving away free tickets in attempt to hamstring the touts. I was on the verge of handing over about 30 quid, but then this woman destroyed the chance of the tout making money. Obviously the tout was very unhappy, and I was a bit worried for this woman but fairplay to her.... it was good to see one of those fuckers lose a sale.

I did, at 9:05 or so -- the site slowed to a crawl, and eventually said "sold out". Same for all other ticket agencies -- their sites were failing and their phone systems were either down or busy for the full 2 hours.

That simply mean that they sold out in 5 minutes. You can't have a go at them for that. |

i remember there was a jimmy eats world gig, and i had tickets (long story) but didn't really want to go, i was going past the venue, on my way to the union, was going to offer my tickets to someone (i didn't pay for them, so what the heck), but *I* got offered free tickets by at least 3 different people! Apparently they'd had to give away loads of tickets for the gig, as it was no where near sold out... the touts were screwed... but it's rare.

Does any one actually know a tout? I mean, obviously i dont imagine you fans would associate with those 'sorts'..but i was just wondering. I have never heard one say anything other than ' buy or sell, buy or sell'. I wonder...I am begining to think they may be robots...surely no human could be so...inhumane? Or, maybe we're robots, and thats what humans are really like....the mind boggles.

on the way to a gig is pretty scary with all those tout wankers shouting at you.

I got scammed once by these guys when I was young and stupid. Bought some Radiohead tickets off a scalper on the dark side of the street, and when we got to the other side we noticed that the ticket was a fake -- it was a photocopy of a real ticket glued to an old Kenny Loggins ticket. Doh! It didn't fool the guy at the door

On the plus side, you didn't have to see Kenny Loggins.

I don't think they will be supporting RHCP in Hyde Park. I think the best bet is one of the festivals or any new gigs they announce. I am hoping they do a large venue like Earls Court or Alexandra Palace, I saw Radiohead and White Stripes at those places recently and I thought the sound quality was excellent, much better in fact than Frank Black and the Catholics at the Astoria or even Shepherd's Bush Empire last year. The only problem is that it is such a crush at the front at those places. |

I remember a year or so back... 5 friends of mine bought 5 tickets from touts outside the Astoria for the Rammstein gig...
the face value was £12, but they really wanted to see the gig so they paid £40 per ticket.... then the gig got cancelled |

Must admit, I thought it might be a misprint, so I played along for a while..... and yes, the bastards are charging £125 a ticket. |

Thats fucking disgraceful, thats online touting?? They probably set up a website to tout solely because they are too fucked on crack to be bothered to stand outside Brixton in June.

i cannot believe i missed out on tickets for these fuckers to make a killing....
same with some of the dudes on ebay - one guy has got 12 tickets going in current auctions today, but he's had atleast 6 that have already ended.

I am sorely tempted to write to these lovely people; asking just what exact service I'll get from them for my £125 a shot that I won't be getting for my £28.25 a shot from Wayahead (yes, I'm a lucky sod who's got tickets).
I notice their US office is in the Empire State Building. Let's club together to pay King Kong to wreck the place. |

ebay have been informed but it seems they don't give a stuff, or are too busy stopping other illegal sales on there...

someone posted it earlier on that it is not against ebay policy to sell concert tickets on ebay, so really what can be done? it's irrelevant that they're selling them for a killing....
however, there might be something in the fact that they don't actually have the tickets yet....

Humph. Have always been into pixies, seen em live three times and have stuck with Frank throughout his solo career. so where have all these so-called pixies fans come from all of a sudden - where were they at the FB&TC gigs? Because of them I couldn't get a ticket for either Brixton show as couldn't get through on the phone or net. Not fair!
Frank, if you read this, please add some more Brixton dates, perhaps the thursday, friday and saturday then some of your more loyal fans will actually get to see the shows. Failing that it's off to the touts we go - and I hate having to line their scummy pockets with my hard earned cash. Cheers Chris
