Today's random song of the day is I Don't Want To Hurt You (Every Single Time).

What do you think of it?

lyrics
I can''t find my way
My vision is oh so blurred
I was wishing for the day
When I didn''t even know one word

I don''t want to hurt you
Not every single time, no
I just seem to hurt you
Every single time

I wish you could be what''s her name
And I could be King Kong
But the chorus was pretty much the same
Everytime I wrote this song

I don''t want to hurt you
Not every single time, no
I just seem to hurt you
Every single time

I started this lesson in depravity
And now we''re falling apart in this lack of gravity
my heart is just a muscle in a cavity
But it hurts so bad
And I''m trying to say I''m definitely blind

I don''t want to hurt you
Not every single time, no
I just seem to hurt you
Every single time

I think quite highly of it. It adds a nice variation to the generally raucous Cult Of Ray album.

And I really like love songs that are not cheesy, like this one. Love songs don't have to reek of cheese if one is masterful in the writing of them. This is a good example of that

Plus Lyle's lead work on it is, as usual, stellar...

This song doesn't do much for me I fear... though reading the lyrics, they're actually pretty great.

This is one of my favorites on COR - which I love despite all it's harsh critics. I think it's just such a lovely sentiment/break up song. This line is kind of a great Frank Black touchstone to me -

And now we''re falling apart in this lack of gravity
my heart is just a muscle in a cavity
But it hurts so bad

Not my favorite on COR - but Psychic is right, it adds a nice variation to the album.

I think this song is somewhat underrated. Not one of my absolute favorite COR songs, certainly, but I like the sentiment quite a bit.

This would be in my all-time FB top 20 - love the lyrics and Frank's singing is excellent.

Some people call this a straightfoward love song. In that situation, those people are idiots. The verse consists of odd chords sequenced in an unusual order that is not in a traditional 4 measures of 4/4. Nick Vincent does some really great bass lines on here, too. It's a good way to close side 1 of the COR LP. Which reminds me - the best Frank/Pixies side 1 closer is "All Over the World", imo. It'd just wouldn't work if "All Over the World" opened up side two, or came before "Ana", or something like that.
