My roommate just picked up Westerberg's newest record, "Come Feel Me Tremble." We just gave it a spin and damn if it's not yet another great batch of songs from a songwriter who I think rivals Frank in consistent output of great songs yet gets little to no recognition for his newer material, only the songs he released in the 80s. Westerberg has just been cranking out records these last few years, and I think that the minimalist approach to recording that he's been taking has been a nice touch to all these songs. I mean, some of those latter day Replacements albums were a bit too polished and glossy. Westerberg's songs sound sound better all gritty and sparse. I really like the Grandpaboy material, though I haven't heard the newest one yet. Anyone else heard this newest record? There's this track called "Knockin' Em Back" that is simultaneously normal sounding and bizarre, and it's got one wicked solo on it.
The mothafuckin' record is so mothafuckin' wack The mothafuckin' cracka jack needs to step the fuck back |

I really liked that song he had in SINGLES - but I don't remember what it's called right now. That is really all I know by him - I should check out some other stuff.

"Dyslexic Heart" Pretty good song, IMO.
Take me, break me, tell me a good one and maybe I'll cry
