Yes, I realize that Malax. That was just a feeble attempt at humor. My threads are littered with them. |

Adnan le Terrible is a reference to my slavic origins and to Frank Black (Ivan the Terrible was a czar of Russia).
Oh, and Adnan is my first name, so...
what have I become, my Swedish friend? / everyone one I know goes away in the end |

+ I like the word terrible, I say it all the time, in French, it sounds pretty cool :
- C'était comment? - Oh, c'était terrrrrrible!
And I have a pretty high opinion of myself, so I am comparing myself to the Czar.
Oh, and Ivan the Terrible is a great Eisenstein's movie.

Well bedrock barney is, of course, Barney Rubble from the Flintstones.
More importantly he is the subject of the Dickies b side to 'Gigantor'.
Epic lyrics:
He comes form a little town in bedrock Just invented the wheel He's got his wife betty in a headlock He drives a boulder mobile With his friends freddy and wilma Tell me how does it feel to be
Bowling with bedrock barney barney He is the life of the party that barney He likes his chilli con carne That barney
I saw him down at the lodge meeting He was the grand wizzo And he was eating a bowl of fruity pebbles He's gonna pour some for you some Cactus cooler and a steakasaurus Just escaped from the zoo
Now i'm bowling with bedrock barney He is the life of the party He likes his chilli con carne
He's such a joke He's been smoking rope There is no hope Barney barney

I wonder about Mereubu's user name. It's like Pere Ubu, but the 'm' is replaced by a 'p'. What is the significance of the 'm'? I may never know.

Your real last name isn't "Noisy" is it? That would be too fucking cool. Is "Dave" really your first name? Not asking for your real last name (unless you wanna give it) but is "Noisy" really it?

More people (3000+ here) know me as 'Noisy', so it's as real as it gets, imo. A goodly number of people call me that in person as well, including my housemates.
Dave is indeed my first name. (Well, my grandma is the only person who calls me 'David'.)
I'm thinking when my grandma passes away, i may change my 'real' surname to Noisy.
I've got a fairly unique surname, which i'm not crazy about, but i'm the last person in my family 'carrying' it, and my dad died from a brain tumor when i was young. I get the feeling she'd be pretty distraught if i changed it, so i'm content to wait.
Tho it's like $200 in Canada now..eeek.. |

I begrudgingly have started to like my last name, Logsdon, after a good long while. I like the fact that it's somewhat unique, but it lends itself too well to jokes, as I've found out on many occasions.
Personally, Dave, I don't think you should ever change your surname, even if you don't like it. It's just part of who you are, and your lineage. In a way I'd rather have a more common last name like "Smith" or something, but I would never actually get my last name changed. Despite its succeptability to jokes, I think that I should keep the name going.

I was in such a hurry to sign up that I used my REAL NAME as my user name. If I could only turn back the clock...I'd pick a really cool user name like:

FunLuva69
or something.

dave: befor changing your name your should read this:
About a guy who changed his name for Fluffy Bunny

Q: So, how did you go about changing your name?
BUNNY: Well, I had to file an affidavit stating that I wasn't married, that I didn't have children, and that I was aware that my name might subject me to public ridicule — which I thought was really amusing. You have to publish once in legal notices. All in all, it cost $30 to download the forms, then a little over $100 to file, and $78 to publish. I think you can get by without paying for the forms, but the rest you sort of need. This is the second time I've changed my name, actually. The first time was in Oregon on my twenty-fifth birthday. It was much less expensive back then.
Q: What did you change your name to twenty-five years ago?
BUNNY: I changed my first name from James to Ames. I was named after an annoying grandfather, and I never liked it. One night I had a revelation that I could just drop the "J" and have something new. Ames is a much nicer name. It sounds like "amiable" and "amigo," and other variations on the word "friend." So twenty-five years later, I'm due for another birthday present. I've decided that Ames Michael Montgomery is a very serious name, and I'm not the world's most serious person.
Q: How did you arrive at the name Fluffy Bunny?
BUNNY: Bunny is sort of a pet name in the house. There's lots of rabbit stuff in here, as you can see.

Shop around for this, as much of that cost depends on where you decide to get a Commissioner for Oaths (or whatever their official title is) to sign your form. I did it a couple years ago and they actually had variable rates, which struck me as bizarre. I was even told to check somewhere else because some of them do it cheaper. In the end I think that rubber stamp cost me barely half of what I had first been told and my name was changed for the incredibly low price of $192.75 with everything included.
Nothing is ever something. |
