Thanks Mun Chein!! I used Babelfish to translate it and it was so funny - and made very little sense. This is a vast improvement.

This line: "Frank needed a bassist and a drummer at the end of 1995". Came out as "Frank needed a bear and a battery at the end of 1995" in Babelfish, for example.

either could be equally correct.
I don't know what you see in him. Maybe he's just not my type.

the second part was more interesting.i didn't know that frank wanted to record an album in a church... anyway here's the rest:

Matt: Matt: Yes, but Scott (Boutier) took the battery post! (Laughter) I remained in the bench and recorded the bcking vocals for some songs of The Cult Of Ray. and i'm still here, but as a sound engineer.

RIFF: but Eric Drew Feldman united with the band in order to do the keyboard parts in your new record.how come he is not touring with you?

Dave: he is on tour with pj harvey.they are old friends

RIFF: there's a rumour that pj has to interrupt her tour due to problems with her voice

Dave:really? then i guess there's a possibility that he unites with the rest of the catholics crew.

RIFF: why the "catholics"?are you religious?

Dave: honestly i don't know why we chose this name.if we had chosen the name another day we could have named the group "The Playboys" or "The Bassists"... (laughs). anyway,i think that frank is the only one in the band that is more or less religious

RIFF: how do you call him?frank, charles?

Dave: Mr.Frank Black, of course! (laughs) No, on stage his is Frank Black, but out of it he likes being called with his real name, charles

RIFF: which is your favourite frank black song?

Matt: Everytime I Go Around Here. i love that song.

Dave: If It Takes All Night... i remember when frank played us the melody in studio for the first time.this song became a classic from the first moment.

RIFF: personally i think that it is your Let's Spend The Night Together .

Dave: yes!i like this!another stones influence.

RIFF:are you already working on the next album?

Dave: Hey! give me a brake! (laughs) We published Dog In The Sand in January of this year, and it mens that until half-full of 2002 we will not be working on the new album.

Matt: i can reveal you that we may record the disc in churches... each new song will be recorded inside a different church, to play with the acoustics and those things...

RIFF: come on!, that would be something really surprising.

Dave: it's an idea that frank has for sometime now.from here comes the song 21 reasons...they exist 21 churches situated in the west coast of the u.s and that's were frank's obsession comes from. good, I believe that I cannot say much more! (laughs)!

RIFF: great scoop!how come this song is not officialy released?i got it from napster and i find it magnific!

Dave: Napster! i don't know much about this stuff, but many people know this song through Napster. who the hell put it there? (laughs) good,i'm glad you like it. you were one of the few that sung it tonight(laughs) I do not know how Napster will go, but personally i find it a very cold medium. i prefer buying my records and cd's(laughs and beers)

RIFF: How is it that you haven' published Dog In The Sand in vinyl? It is your only disc that is not on sale in that format

Dave: i know! And it's definetely stupid! In addition, the house that publishes it in Europe is Cooking Vinyl... and I ask myself, where the hell is the vinyl?(Laugs) we'll see if Frank speaks with them and we can, like minimum, obtain some vinyl copies. It would be great.

RIFF: Another brilliant point tonight has been the cover of Tom Waits, The Black Rider.

Dave:Oh, yes!we usually do it in some shows. It is our particular tribute to Mr. Waits. Frank adores his music and he likes to put it once in a while in his show. The Black Rider is a very crazy song.

RIFF:last year you had to play in the Santirrock with Sonic Youth. How come in the end you suspended that concert?

Dave: Frank's wife was ill and it was impossible to go. we would have loved to play there, because we love Spain, but Frank was very worried about her and the best thing was to let go.

RIFF:is Spain one of your favorite countries?.

Dave: Of course. In Europe, Frank is in love with France and Spain. Particularly, I prefer Spain. People are warmer and the food is much better.

Matt: I love tapas!

Dave: yes! The tapas are a great thing! Frank adores the tapas, although I believe that its favorite plate is the paella.he is is a biiiiiggggg man with biiiiiiggggg appetite (Laughs).

Matt: Hey! You are talking about the boss, Dave!(Laughs)

Dave: OK, OK... No,no seriously. he is a great guy.

RIFF: do you think that you will return here soon?

Dave: I do not know. If everything goes well, in April we will return in America to tour.Perhaps at the end of the year we will return to Spain, maybe just as plain tourists. It is always a pleasure to visit spain.
