It's in my top five. Definitely.

I looked for a cult to join, then decided to just play "Sink". Hey! I sank the LaBrea Tar Pits!

Can I be sneaky and say top 5 from Cult?

Like, the one you time just perfectly so can concentrate on just listening to it & enjoying it?

See I have tracks that I need to be doing something else to to appreciate them - nominally those that make me want to move...

The others would be The marsist, man in black, punk rock city, & i don't want to hurt you...

malax.....i suppose there is always an ONE person who says a song is in their top five. i'll give you that one. i agree with goodman, though -- its not even top 5 on COR.

I doubt it would be in my top 5 of COR either. At this moment I would be hard pressed to think of 5, its been so long since I listened to it. I may dust it off....

I do think it is a good song, and would certainly not strongly disagree with anyone who puts it in their top 5, even though I probably wouldn't put it in a list myself. It's DEFINITELY in the 'top 5 FB intros' list.

I love Creature Crawling, esp. the sneaky guitars. There's also a great solo acoustic version of this on the McCabe's 1996 show where he sings it all Robert Smith ("did you know about tha-ha-ha-hat?") I think that this song would not be out of place on Bronze.

If I were looking for a song I'd expect no one to put in their top 5, it'd probably be Punk Rock City...

He played it at the Filmore in SF on the Cult Of Ray tour.

He played a whole lot of weird one's (meaning songs rarely played then and now)there, too. Two Reelers, Hostest With The Mostest, Pray A Little Faster, You Never Heard About Me, Bad Wicked World, Announcement, Punk Rock City, Brackish Boy (full band, punk rock version). There were so many songs that he played there and so many odd ones along with the standards of that period that I can't think of them all. It was a pretty unbelievable show and the best one of the nine that I've seen. Lyle Workman on guitar...

I saw a review where someone said Frank sounded like Mark Knopfler when singing this song. I can kind of see that, although I think that's even more the case with "Calistan."

The song wouldn't really rank that high on my list of COR songs or Frank songs in general, but it certainly has its merits.
