The webmaster just didn't have enough time to keep up with it, so he took it down. |

Well, it had alot of things, and something i thought was cool is it had some explanations for some lyrics.
ie: St Francis Dam Disaster....on the lyrics page for this song it also gave a link to the history of what happend on the st francis dam...knowing the story made the song that much cooler...
it also seemed to be the most updated frank black page, just as long as you write an update for every possible thing you hear about, this will be the BESTEST site |

The song database on this site will be the most thorough you've ever seen. I've gotten in touch with the webmaster. He wrote back, I wrote back, and I await a reply. |

Yes, I loved that. & Will anyone ever find the real lyric to Annoucement. It seems to be another song that no one can agree with the lyrics on.

good to finally be able to sing (baddly) along to the song and have the correct lyrics.
I'd really love to hear Announcement live. Has it ever been played live? The drums are awesome and during the end I never want them to end. I really wish there was a true ending and not a fade. This is one a my all time fave songs.

I have a bootleg from the Cult Of Ray tour , originally a 28 song set at Moe's Cafe Seattle, but the taper edited it to fit it all on one CD, and the songs he left off were Men In Black, and the set-closer which was "Announcement" !!! Geez that pissed me off, i've been dying to hear a live version, one of my fave FB songs, and the sound quality on this gig is excellent too.....oh well.... |

Jeremy also asked Frank why he doesn't play Announcement anymore, and he said he was burnt out on it. |

Ah, the '96 Cult of Ray European tour. I remember the scene in Dundee Lucifer's Mill vividly: Frank balanced precariously on a flight-case for the whole gig, head against the ceiling, with Lyle standing on a separate stage 'cos the main stage was too small. You had to duck under his lead to get to the 'Gents'. And you guys didn't play Announcement there

Every other site paled in comparison to The Vault when it was up and running. I'm sure this site has the potential and support to provide the same type of information. Also, with FB registered as "Not only a member but the nexus of the site" the only way to go is up.
Adios!

It was the last song at the Garage in Glasgow during the same tour. Frank started off that Glasgow gig for apologising for the Pixies SECC gig that had to be aborted after the crush at the front threatened fans and the stage. Only 2 and a half songs were completed - the show stopped in the middle of River Euphrates.

Yep, and most shows started with the marsist. And if we were lucky, Brackish Boy (electric loud version) was played about in the middle of the set ... [May 20th, 1996, Lyon, France : my first Frank Black gig]

Frank and Dave closed the North Star Bar show with an awesome version of Sir Rockabye in Feb '01. It blew me away. Great close to a really awesome show.

I liked the "frank black dictionary" thing he had there... i can't remember what he called it... but it was a cool little thing that had definitions for rare words and expressions used in Frank's songs, which we all know, is one of our favortite things about FB... frankly "it's educational"

Good question, and a good reminder. I gotta contact him again, he never wrote back after the inital reply. And as for the dictionary, it'll be yet another feature of my ever-wonderful song database...each song will have its own "definitions" box which will define out-of-the-ordinary lingo that our favorite linguist tosses into his songs. |
