I went to the Asbury Park Show and I figured I should tell you guys about it. If anyone who reads this board was there I was the guy wearing the Tenacious D shirt. I met Zan when I was there, her hooded sweatshirt was very cool. I don't remember the set list but Zan put it in her post earlier. I got there at 6:30 after getting lost a bit because I didn't bear left on a road. A few people were standing outside under the sign out front when I arrived . I decided to just hang out on the sidewalk. While I was standing there who else but Frank himself comes out of the side door and starts walking to a truck, his I guess. Stupid me (ha) forgot to bring a camera so I couldn't ask him for a picture. He got into the truck and started it up and drove off. When he was walking one of the catholics yelled "Yo Chuck!" to wait for him or something. David Lovering was walking all around the place inside and I felt dumb because I would have loved to get a picture with him. His science/comedy show was hilarious, he did some pretty cool stuff with a lot of cheesy humor. Reid Paley was FANTASTIC he was funny too. He was making fun of girl at the bar who wasn't paying attention to the show. I bought both of his cd's at the show, I was so impressed. The Bennies came on were good especially the last song that they did. Frank came on so I ran up to the front I was an arm's length away from Frank on stage. As you all know he flys through songs. He starts the next song before you can clap for the one you just heard. Dave on bass was the jolly one of the bunch and he kept staring at the girl in front of me the whole time. Rich Gilbert was awesome he was really into it, he's a great guitar player. I forget which song but I think it was Sister Isabel he poped his E string and started rubbing the guitar on the steel pedal guitar and on the mic stand, earlier he was playing with his teeth. He was dressed up in this cool cowboy gear. The most rocking songs were Black Letter Days, 666, and Sister Isabel. I think I have ear damage from 666 it was so loud. I also noticed one of the pedals on stage had "Chucky's" written on it. Overall it was a great show, I can't wait to see them all again in Philly. The Nadine song Frank played was really good too.
