Hey, Bush said we (well the Americans, but I will manage to get a green card by then) will colonize Mars. Who said Bush wasn't COOL?
Hell I want to go there. I will be a Pilgrim Father, and with the Pilgrim Mother, we will raise plenty of kids on Mars. And one day, one of my grand-grand sons will become the president of Mars, and he will say "I am a descendent of Adnan, the brave pioneer".
If you want to go to Mars, apply now. All you have to do is tell a little story like me.
And now, something interesting. After 20 replies to this message, I want somebody from the cyber-gestapo (Dave, Dean or Jim) to lock this thread. So we will have a list of people from this forum going to Mars.
This is serious.
PS : I'm editing this message (I don't want to make a reply, which would break the rules of the game) just to say this : George W Bush is not coming with us. |

Before we can colonize Mars, I think we should maybe look into putting air on it.

You've got to wonder if they have some elements there that maybe the rover has discovered, or other 'precious' or rare elements here on earth in abundance.
Whatever the motivation, if the end result is moving mankind into space then I'm all for it. I'll even hop aboard your ship as long as you have room for five radioactive kitties.
-7 to -73 Celsius doesn't sound all that bad. Except for those damning Martian winds. 200 km/h when it's -73 would not be very nice.
Too bad we don't have a way of altering Mars' orbit to be closer to the sun... guess we'll have to settle for terraforming or at least self-contained encampments.

Bush is far better, especially for current challenges, than anybody the dems have offered in the last thirty years. |

I was just watching this terrible movie Red Planet, with Val Kilmer. Anyway, it turns out you can breath on Mars, so why don't we all go? The winds don't seem too problematic, you just have to watch out for the spacebugs which are eating our artificial algae. Remember, Hollywood wouldn't lie to us...

200kmh winds at -73C? shit...makes me homesick for our old lakeside condo in Chicago. I dig the desert too - what the hell. We are bringing Cheez Whiz, right? I can't do a 6 month space flight with no Cheez Whiz.
I looked for a cult to join, then decided to just play "Sink". Hey! I sank the LaBrea Tar Pits! |

They can send Arnold Schwarzenager (sorry if spelled wrong) to Mars after his gubernatorial term. He was already there in his movie Total Recall so he's a natural pick. It's really not hard you just have to stay indoors or keep your suit on outside and you can breathe fine. And don't crack your face mask or your eyes get really big and you totally wig out. That would suck.
We're supposed to colonize the earth's moon first though, I think.
Seriously though, to put my two cents in politically, I don't think that Bush is better than what the Dem's have offered up. That is just crap, but we'll just have to agree to disagree, mr guy who wrote that up there.. (sorry to be so lazy). It would be nice if before we start spending lots more money on NASA if Congress would stop voting themselves a pay raise every term and if we could maybe increase funding for public education and medicare, stuff like that, but hey, that's probably not going to happen no matter who's in office.
Still, "Space is gonna do me good."

I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned:
Bush is clearly already in outer space...what's the point?? |
