Following on from Apl's Spalding Gray post I wonder how many other famous people out there have odd names. i.e where the christian name and surname seem at odds with each other or the full name is just a bit quirky. I nominate:
Minnie Driver
Austin Healey (England rugby player. also famous old British sports car)
Rip Torn (someone please tell me this is his birth name!)
Jack Russell (ex England cricket player and man's best friend in his spare time)
Truk Van Rental (sorry, might have made this one up)

I was always a fan of Dick van Dyke (not to be confused with Penus van Lesbian)

Do you know how many OBGYNs out there have the last name "Hymen"?!?!? Too many, that's how many.
I have heard of two with the name "Dick Hymen". Sadly, I'm not kidding. What I'd like to know is, did they choose their profession because of their name, or is it something they "came up with" afterwards?
My cousin is an OBGYN, and her married name is Butt. Poor woman.

Actually, I feel sorry for any human being whose married name is "Butt." Obgyn or not. |

My own favourite is TIPPER GORE - neither word can be a human name, surely? |

That reminds me of the legend of the brothers Orangejello and Lemonjello.
Dick Armey's a good one.
How 'bout that Shevardnadze guy from somewhere in Eastern Europe? I always thought it sounded like Shepherd Nazi. That's a pretty scary thought. |

I think there's a racecar driver named Dick Trickle.
Jah Wobble Mark Spybey (Not really unusual. Just sounds odd to me)
John Doe Exene Cervenkova

I've got to stop having these 24 hour sleep episodes.
I think (although the thinking didn't take very long) that I expected to see real names (even if they were names that people had changed by deed poll).
A couple more:
Rula Lenska (quite exotic sounding)
Moon Unit Zappa (like..thanks dad)
