Today's random song of the day is I Love Your Brain.

What do you think of it?

lyrics
He was hurting for the answers
He was serving up the questions
He was searching for a guru
He was lucky that he knew you

When I saw your fine physique
I was into you like a train
I love it when you speak
You''re so urbane

Oh I love your brain
(I love your brain)
Yes I love your brain
(I love your brain)
Oh I love your brain
(I love your brain)
I''m gonna say it again

I love your brain
(I love your brain)
It''s a beautiful brain
(I love your brain)
I wanna be with your brain
(I love your brain)
I wanna sleep with your brain

She was looking like a Romane
She was cooking it with fire
She was talking right to me
And I couldn''t unglue me

Though I am no Duke of Earl
You are my chatelaine
I love the way the world
Drives you insane

Oh I love your brain
(I love your brain)
Yes I love your brain
(I love your brain)
Oh I love your brain
(I love your brain)
I''m gonna say it again

I love your brain
(I love your brain)
It''s a beautiful brain
(I love your brain)
I wanna be with your brain
(I love your brain)
I wanna sleep with your brain

(I love your brain)

Yuck! A song from Pistolero!
Actually it's not a bad song. I just dislike the guitar solos in it.

i quite like it when listening to the album, but it doesn't really stand out, just fits in, if you know what a mean... a bit cheesy i've always thought, and a bit frank's-raw-rock-sound-by-numbers at the time...

~~~
I'm flat out, you're so beautiful to look at when you cry. Freeze, don't move, you've been chosen as an extra in the movie adaptation of the sequal to your life. Shady Lane, everybody wants one, Shady Lane, everybody needs one.
Sounds a bit like "I Gotta Move"... which is better in many respects, IMO.
What's the next one?
This song kinda gets on my nerves, especially the chorus. I do like the lyrics though. The "love your brain" concept is refreshing - Laurie Anderson plays with this as well:
"My Compensation"
"My eyes snap open and I get up I say
This must be my lucky day
Jump up - get out - get on my way
Every slobbery frog and every mangy dog
That crosses my path reminds me
You're my precious jewel and you're my precious one
My compensation.
I used to live in a big house
All I ever thought about was getting out
When I met you there was something about you
Every slobbery frog and every mangy dog
That crosses my path (conspires to) remind(s) me
I love your brain. I love your brain.
I love your brain."
One degree of separation - Lou Reed? ;)
I like this song - mostly for the whole concept like apl said. What are we other than a brain in a body? I dig it.
I'm not much into this song. This song blends in with a few forgettable songs on COR.
Well, I can't really take the credit for that - those words are purely the product of Laurie Anderson's amazing brain. ;)
I am not a native of Ohio by the way. So if you want to amicably poke fun at my home state, please speak derisively of Kentucky - it's popular, and easy to do.
Is that a Woody Allen reference?
Anyway, I really like this song. "into you like a train" is genius. Also love, "searching for a guru...he was lucky that he knew you"
It never ceases to amaze me how some of the guitar solos that really rile me are considered dross by someone else. Yet we all love Frank's stuff. I dig this song's solos. This is another of the songs that really left me wishing for a "clean" studio version. What I mean by that is one with each instrument's contribution polished and, most likely, individually recorded. I respect the live-to-two-tracks thing, but sometimes it just sounds like there is an amazing song in there and the only version I can listen to is the crusty one....and just imagine the harmonies and textures that could have been....
It's the title of a Psychedelic Furs song from the early '80s.
No no no, I have really nothing against your home state, whatever it is. That's just a personal way to say how much I appreciate your cultural interventions, especially when they deal with frogs. :)
By the way, I visited Western Kentucky (Mammoth Cave and its area) & Northern Tennessee 4 years ago and I really enjoyed my stay there.
I found myself quoting this song just tonight; the GF and I were having one of those unspeakably cutesie-poo conversations about I-like-you-because, and I kept talking about her personality, and she finally said, "Don't you like anything that's not my brain?"
I backpedalled and said some admiring (and true) things about her body, then I confessed that ever since she'd made that comment all I could think of was "Wanna sleep with your brain!"
Actually I'd had a few drinks and I misquoted it as "You're so cool, I wanna f*** your brain!" But I think the spirit of the song was there.
