most likely knitting my brow and squinting at your question in utter confusion. I'll take a guess and tell you what other boring things I am up to now.
I just help Dean reach an apex above Bush in the stupidest person on earth election, listening to the democratic presidential "debates" on NPR, trying to warm my icy fingers so I can get back to making some art for a poetry book I'm illustrating...that's about it.
Oh, and I keep burping turkey sandwich and Orangina. "Yuck!" then "mmmmmm".

hahaha - of course.
But what are you doing? And what is a "flaming' republican, if I may be so bold?

Hello.
Yes, and any and whichever, but mostly in the capacity of a generally curious person. I'm awfully curious at the moment about Zoroastrianism - I just heard on our local NPR call-in talk show today that they treat the departed in a very interesting manner - rather inspiring for a new piece of artwork....In what capacity are you interested? I noticed you are getting your doctorate in the subject.
Also, I was going on a funny but related tangent a few months back about Toynbee, in part because of those strange tiles they keep finding all over the western hemisphere.

I am really interested, as my screen name suggests, in the supression of the feminine in modern Catholic faith. Although it may seem lame to some, I was shocked at how much the book The DaVinci Code can teach the layperson a quick encapsulated version of that history and seemingly in a way that is popular with a lot of people. I guess if you've never researched the subject much (and you enjoy a dime store thriller) that's a pretty good start.
Those Toynbee plaques..hmm...I don't know much although I do like Kubrick.
I think a lot of people are going to being asking a lot more questions. After all...this is the dawning of the age of Aquarius to quote the hippy dippy song.
I could go off on the religion subject and talk for ages. I kinda wanted to use this as a break from it but I can't help myself sometimes : ).
Noticed the fact that there seems to be a healthy number of female posters as opposed to some sites where if you even let on you're female, the testosterone turns into stupid juice and eventually you are drowning in it.

Ugh. I went to Catholic school for a year out of religious curiosity in freshman year - lordy the arguments I had with the nun, Sister Jean Ann Zappa (no, no relation, we asked...), that taught Religion class. Needless to say, I didn't stick around after that first year.
Haven't read The DaVinci Code - I'm not sure it would be up my alley. Toynbee was a religious historian...where was that link again?...
http://toynbee.net/toynbee.html - just one person's summary of research on the historian, birthed from a possibly unhealthy fascination with the tiles.
And yeah, this place is pretty alright, real good people.

The "henhouse" looks like it's been a topic for a long...long time.
Apl, I am aware of Toynbee but I never delved into the plaques and what it has to do with Kubrick so thanks for the link.
I'll leave that "warm and salty" line alone to those with less pure thoughts... |

Why does it make me think "Sea of Clamato Juice"? I bet Kubrick would have used that if he did the Martian Chronicles. Grok that!
I looked for a cult to join, then decided to just play "Sink". Hey! I sank the LaBrea Tar Pits! |
