What are your top 10 albums for 2003? Anything released in '03 is valid, including reissues. Doesn't need to be in any order. |

hell... I doubt I even bought 10 albums in 2003, at least not that were released in 2003. The two that stand out I would think would probably be on my top 10 though and they are The Polyphonic Spree album and the Guided By Voices best-of album. Come to think of it the Polyphonic Spree album might have been released in 2002. Oh well. I need to get the new FB album.

Angels of Light, Frank Black, and The Fall recording my favorites for 2003. I have a feeling THe Decemberists will be up there as well, and of course Guided by Voices always deliver (though I found this one slightly below par). |

I am having trouble remembering five new CD's I bought this year. Very sad. Of course FB & TC's are up there and I also like Fever To Tell by the Yeah Yeah Yeah's. Billy Bragg released a best of (Must I Paint You a Picture) that I love, and Ben Lee's new CD was pretty good too. Oh, and I liked Aimee Mann's Lost in Space - which I think came out at the very beginning of the year. Other than that, I was totally looking forward to the new Liz Phair, and that broke my heart b/c it was crap. Oh well. |

I was Erase Errata at the Black Cat in DC months ago. I went to see the Scene Creamers, who opened for them (and they rocked.)
But I was utterly unimpressed w/ Errata...in short, they sucked.

hey Cheeseman - curious about that Sonic Youth Dirty remaster - I understand it has some B-sides, how is the remastering? is it worth getting a copy if you have the prior version?

To be honest, I don't have the original, but it sounds pretty ace to me. Truly stunning album, non? These are the BSides etc... Stalker; Genetic; Hendrix Necro; The Destroyed Room; Is It My Body; Personality Crisis; The End Of The Ugly; Tamra. Theres also another eleven tracks of rehearsal recordings, some of which are embryonic but noticeably different versions of songs that made it to the final cut. In all... excellent, dude.
