I actually am a huge NBA fan and I was hoping to see some discussion when I opened this thread, despite that fact, I am not unsatisfied having opened it. |

Yeah, that surprised the shit out of me. Why do people keep trading Starbury? This is his 4th team I beleive. |

yeah, 'cept for the fact she's looking off to the left of the net about 1000 yards into the distance - her "bimbo-mindless-stare" must've been activated by the opposing team's "defensive manuevers", haha.

carolyn..obviously someone forgot to tell what happens after her shirt gets torn off and she wins the game of 21..she lets the basketball stud lure her into the showers, letting him feel the power he needs to feel in order to feel like a 'real' man..then while he's busy ripping her red shorts off..10 of her girlfriends come out and proceed to have their way with him..anally.

I don't buy that. How can a guy who is consistently in the top five for assists be "one of the most selfish players" in any era? Add to that the fact that he's good for 20 points and the guy is a legitimate star. He keeps getting traded because of money (if that's what you mean by selfish, you're right, but it's just part of being a basketball player). Also, look at what the Suns got back for him - McDyess is obviously the guy they wanted the most. If he gets minutes and can regain his form he's a solid big man, but Ward and Eisley will help them too. Never heard of the guy they got the rights to, but I'm sure his knees will last longer than Penny's.

The Suns got rid of salary and gained some cap space. I think that was their goal.
Go Kings! |

On a completely related note: I went upstairs to check the paper for a refresher on the trade and my kitchen is being flooded from above!
Anyway, the guy in the paper says the Suns are freeing up cap room to go after Kobe next summer. Makes sense for a team with the worst record in the conference, I suppose. As far as the Knicks...I think this is the smartest thing Isaiah's done so far, but I still think they'll never get beyond an "almost there" squad, like any team he runs.

I did read the Suns were freeing up salary cap space, but I had no idea it was in the pursuit of Kobe. I can't see Kobe in those ugly ass uniforms. I'd like to see Kobe go to an Eastern conference team, as well as a legitimate center in the east. The fucking east hasn't won a championship since Jordan, that shit's getting old, and the west is the best because they've been stacking teams for years in an attempt to beat Jordan. And I agree with the above compliments about Marbury, he's a great player, and was born in New York city, so welcome home. How about Kobe returns to Philly and plays with Iverson. That would be interesting. |

Didn't Kobe get booed at the All Star game in Philly? Kobe to the Clippers so he can battle Shaq for LA. |

Yes.
Actually, they were saying tonight about him going to the Knicks.
Marbury, Kobe and a center and the knicks will be good again and hoipefully play the lakers one year |

I beleive I read that theSuns waived Charlie Ward , which seems like a strange move, as he's certainly an above average PG off the bench. As for the Suns getting Kobe, I really doubt that, though with Kobe's recent scandals, who knows what his future holds. |

After what's gone on the last couple years with Shaq, I think Kobe will want to go to a team where he's the only huge star. Probably somewhere with little media coverage too, if he gets this legal issue behind him I think he'll want to lay low for awhile. Maybe he's secretly planning to be the first great player for the new Charlotte franchise. I don't mean it in a disrespectful way, but basketball players more than in any other North American pro sport seem hung up on being noticed for their individual greatness. Remember T-Mac leaving his cousin and a budding great team a couple year ago because he "wanted to be the man?" That's what their league and media emphasizes too: would baseball or hockey have issued posters billing a game as a battle of individuals? Like this year's first Cavs-Nuggets game, the NBA was selling posters set up like boxing pay-per-view advertisements that billed the game as "Lebron vs. Carmelo, Vol. I" and it kind of bugs me. It makes more sense in basketball - perhaps only a baseball pitcher can singlehandedly dominate a game as much as a great basketball player.
Enough of that rant now...
