| It's on my "to rent" list. I've read about the feces eating and chicken killing nonsense, but how gross/appalling is the movie in general? Are the "key" scenes long/explicit or brief/vague? Is the plot secondary? |

John Waters said they ate the chicken, so it didn't die in vain.
I haven't seen it in over ten years, but I don't believe it's all that disgusting by today's standards. When it came out in 1972, it must have been the most shocking film around.
Make no mistake, though-- the final scene (with the poodle turd) is sickening by ANY standards.

I don't know I watched a few years ago and that violent chicken humping part was pretty shocking to my fragile little mind. I've seen all his stuff, it's great.

It's not great.
I rented it about 5 years ago. One of my friends put it in a plastic bag and threw it out of a window.

It corrupted my mind to the extent that I now eat feces whenever I see people humping chickens. John Waters is a bastard for that.
