I dunno... whenever I hear The Long and Winding road... I always start to cry, ever since the first time I heard it. Whenever I try to play it, i just start to cry. Does anyone else experience this with the same or another song, perhaps a polka version? hahahah

wow I was just chatting about this topic with someone. And I said some Radiohead songs can bring tears to my eyes, mostly because of Thom Yorke's voice. But She wants to play a game of hearts by Ryan Adams is another.

The only songs that bring tears to my eyes are due to past association. I would say a couple of Elliot Smith songs, and a track called It's OK by Delirious.

Oh yeh...past association has a lot to do with it. I couldn't even listen to ANY Leonard Cohen for about 2 years after I broke up with someone who was completely into him. I wanted to , but I just couldn't bare it, how pathetic :P

Also Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen is just so beautiful...
All I ever learned from love, was how to shoot at someone who out-drew you- I mean that's just brilliant, like all of his stuff.

I don't like the Leonard Cohen version actually! The Jeff Buckley and Rufus Wainwright versions are superior I think.

Do You Realize by Flaming Lips
Try listening to that one while holding your 6 month old kid. "Hey kid, someday you'll be dead, I'll be dead, everyone we know will be dead." I know the song at the core has an uplifting message, but it can still make me tear up.
"Carry that weight" (or maybe it's "Golden Slumbers", I'm not sure where one ends and the other begins) by the Beatles use to get to me when I first left home for college. |

I played I'll be blue on my guitar when my girlfriend broke up with me. The first verse and chorus went ok, but when I reached the second verse...

Looking for Something in Red & I Guess you had to Be There by Dolly Parton.
also
The Luckiest by Ben Folds.
Funny, I don't like either of those singers but those songs make me so sad.

"Kimy Don't Love Me No More" by Frank Black.
I don't remember crying while listening to a song, but I do remember that the last 2 songs of Led Zep's "In Through The Out Door" really moved me when I was a teenager. (Uh, I can't remember their names.) I also remember being touched by a Smiths song, "There's A Light That Never Goes Out". |

due to past association "tunnel of love" and "romeo and juliet" by the dire straits.give me a couple of drinks and let me listen to these two songs and probably i'll tell you about my whole life. smashing pumpkins's "disarm" and "cold heart of stone" could do the job too.
