It is a crime against God and all humanity that this song hasn't been released on an official album. This has got to be the hardest rocking song in the history of the world (followed closely behind by Western Star). Not even the Gunn himself could write a harder rocking song

This song is almost as rocking as Skeleton Man.
Just kidding. You are right, definitely one of my favorite b-sides. The slower version is cool, but I like the faster one much more

Now now, don't say things you don't mean.
I agree...this song kicks major ass. I prefer the original version, you know, the one that actually rocks.

I thinks it's a shame that both this song and living on soul are not on an official release.
The All My Ghost EP was one of his best singles, if not the best. I love changing of the guards too

This song kicks all ass known to mankind.
What are the chances of a b-sides only compilation from Frank? |

I'm not fond of the version on SSMVGD. It seems unemotional and bland compared to the version on the single, and that extra verse just seems out of place. The single version is semi-mindblowing.

I'm listening to Humboldt, SSMVGD version, right now, and it certainly doesn't sound bland. In fact it sounds awesome.

To each, his own. But when's the last time you heard the fast version? |

I know not when I will ever get to hear SSMVGD, I have nothing rare, so I guess I'm doomed to wait for it's approved FBnet ftp-icityness.
I do love Humboldt County Massacre, though (on the All My Ghosts EP). I agree, this song rocks way too hard to not be on an album, but then I think alot of songs get cut, and get left on, that shouldn't be. I should shut my mouth, I cannot profess to know better what should be on a FB&tCs album - WWFT? ;) As long as they make the songs!

Never heard the slow version, but the fast one is one of my favourite songs in the world. Interesting story and great music.
