I think the alphabetical order thing goes along with statements Frank's made about how he doesn't care about "albums". He doesn't get too bothered over song sequencing and whatnot.
And still the song placement ends up being really good on FB and the Cs. The Man Who Was Too Loud is a perfect album ender. Good thing it isn't just called "Man Who Was too Loud."
"Join the Cult of Gunn / And you'll get an eighties Monster Ballad CD just for joining"

Actually, it's original title was "A Man Who Was Too Loud." Frank renamed it to adhere to his rigid blueprint of track order. Also, since the new title connoted a story about a specific individual (rather than an nebulous male humanoid), Frank decided to focus on Jonathan Richman.
"Join the Cult of Dustin / And vanish without a trace"
yes, it was called the man who was too loud on the BBC John Peel sessions too and there was no blueprint of track order of the FB and the C's album around!
"I joined the Culf of Frank/ And now I do not know what...to do"
