Today's random song of the day is Jesus Was Right.
What do you think of it?
lyrics Maybe on the street Maybe on the beach Maybe I''ll see you at the mall
Jesus was right Yeah, I dont want to fight at all
I want to be alone I want to be inside my headphones I skate for transportation Play guitar for elevation Into a state of my own
I like distortion when I bar chord A lonely parking lot when I ride on my board
Maybe on the beach Maybe on the street Maybe I''ll see you in the hall

Fun song. One of the very few highlights of COR.

I know half the people here hate this song, but I love it. It's actually one of the first FB songs I loved; a friend of mine bought the CD in '96 just before we went skiing for a week, and everyday we would wake up listening to CoR and Jesus Was Right was just perfect to start the day.

Unless I'm forgetting something, this is the closest Frank has gotten to rockabilly. In the vocal melody at least. That's a good thing. This a good song. |

I just don't know about this one I think a 'modern' catholics approach on this song would be better

Good idea! I would love to hear a new version of this song, even though I can hear the guitar parts of the old one still in my head.
I like the skateboarding references too |

I like this song, especially Mr Workman's job.
Btw, what is it about ??? My poor frog brain fails to grasp its deep meaning... |

This song will always remind me of my first FB show, in Madison 1996. Right in the middle of the song, when the guitar fires up, the crowd went nuts and the energy was overwhelming. I was right up front at Franks feet, where I have been at every show since. Ah, the memories.
I like that lemur, I lick it. That's velvety! |

great song...one of the best, if not the best, on the album. for as good as frank's albums are, why is CD design/artwork soo bad ? |

I remember buying COR when it came out, hearing this song and realizing Frank didn't walk on water. The end of the song ("I like distortion...") partially saves it for me, but still I feel this song is inferior to almost everything Frank put out before it.

It is a song about non-violence.
Ghandi would have loved it.
I personally like any songs that mention Jesus in a positive light. |

I like it. The line "I like distortion when I bar chord" sticks in my head. I've wondered if it's a relationship song, but the whole skater dude, punk rock thing throws me. Guess it's asking that musical question, "can't we all just get along?" |

I too like this song, and Lyle Workmans' guitar. I agree it's a song about non-violence, and maybe also Frank telling us about what he does to chill-out rather than "acting-out". |

It's a fun song...I used to like it more than I do now. I have a recording of me on guitar, Brett of the Bennies on drums, and my 8 year old cousin Megan on vocals...it's funny.
