Okayz youz guyz! Get ready to boogie down! Louisville band. Evergreen - "Plastic bag". Hopes youz likez it!
This mp3 doesn't do this song justice, the bass sounds a little wonky - meant to be played very loud.
http://www.insound.com/media/evergreen_plastic.mp3
Album track listing: 1 Fairlane (3:27) 2 Petting the Beast (2:26) 3 Solar Song (4:30) 4 Whip Cream Bottle (2:58) 5 Plastic Bag (3:39) 6 Klark Kent (4:07) 7 Sweet Jane (3:49) 8 Glass Highway (4:50) 9 Zoom Zoom (2:38) 10 New York City (3:34) 11 Coyote (2:25) 12 Pants Off/The Queen Song (4:04) 13 (Untitled Track) (4:25)
P.S. Here's some junk from http://www.temporaryresidence.com/www/trl_html/nov03.htm about the band, if you actually like that song/album (man, I sure do!!):
"EVERGREEN BACK FROM THE DEAD!!! Louisville legends Evergreen (featuring members of Slint, The Breeders and Cinderblock) have been resurrected to remind us all that truly timeless records never go away, they just get lost in the mess of bullshit hype and desperate hogging of spotlight that we've all tried our hardest to avoid. When the dust settles and the budget bins are jam packed and the hits have turned to hacks, bands like Evergreen and records like this still excite us and remind us of what good... REALLY GOOD rock music has the power to do. It's not the glitters, it's the gold. Remastered with two additional bonus tracks not available on the original album, there's no better time than now to discover or rediscover this gem. Especially recommended for anyone totally sick of the watered down garage rock revival. It helps us get through it all, and I'm sure it will help you."...
Members - Tim Ruth (Guitar), Sean McLaughlin (Vocals/Guitar), Britt Walford (Drums/Keyboards), and Troy Cox (Bass) |

Definately a fun song, I would like to see these guys live. The vocals are a little low.

It reminds me a little bit of maybe the Tangiers mixed with the White Stripes, actually...
I don't mind the song, though it's a little more Tangiers than White Stripes. An interesting almost oriental sounding bridge that somehow fits with the song though by all rights it shouldn't. Very straightforward rocker, but it grows...

I was starting to think this was just another solid, catchy garage song, and maybe that's right. For me though, the bridge and final chorus really clinched it after a few listens, to the point where I'll proudly say "Me likee muchee."
I'd heard OF this band before, but this is the first of their songs I've had a chance to listen to. I'm quite impressed, which doesn't usually happen for me with just a few listens, but something about this tune works with something about my taste and I'm definitely going to check out more of their stuff. Next time I run into money I think I'll even go try to find this disc, because nothing sounds really good on my computer.
In short, good pick.
Nothing is ever something. |

Sort-of reminds me of a slowed-down Flin Flon track. (Wonky,Boppy)
Good. Can't really get into it, though.

Sounds like something you'd hear booming from a garage down the street. Good thing/Bad thing.

i bet this would sound great live.
you can definitely hear the Fugazi/Ian Mackaye influence. i don't know if i'd buy it, but i'm interested in hearing more.
my only complaint: maybe a bit too even keel for me. not enough change in the song.. know what i mean?
now i'm afraid for my pick too.. |

If you like this even a little, you would be happy if you bought the album - the other songs are all just as good and better. Besides, mp3s suck for music like this - raw and livish recorded vocals and such. |

not something I would listen to very often...
but laid back punk.
kinda interesting... sounds like the same band...
i like the weird sythn...
simple rythym
inaudible lyrics
cool drum beat
i bet it would be fun to see live or to cover their shit
but it isn't catchy really at all
to be continued...

I like the song, but it sounds like a demo. Like the voice is fighting to be heard. Is this just a bad copy? cause I really want to like it more.

This music actually makes me want to listen to the Tangiers again. I've been listening to this song for awhile today and it's simple but not that bad at all.

Bad copy - sorry. But Sean McLaughlin was probably drunk during this, though I really like the singing on this myself. He was a great drummer (other bands). The cd sounds a lot better, especially on a good car sound system while plummeting down an interstate at 3 AM on a road-trip buzz.
This band is most definitely better as a whole - the album is great. Anyone still having problems dling this song? Lemmee know and I'll try and figure out what's the ding-dang-doodle problem....

Excellentay! I like it, I shall investigate further most certainly. The bass line is just fantastic and the guitar compliments in magnificentally. This little game is proving more fruitful than I thought. The more I listen to this the more I like it. |

Yeah. we just found out there are a couple of 7 inches we didn't have over at insound.com, also, the album was re-released with 2 extra tracks, and it looks like a couple songs were renamed (eg. pretty sure "Plastic Bag" used to be "Precious"). We went on another music buying spree that might make me blush if I didn't think it were worth every penny. insound also happens to be having a blowout clearance sale, which doesn't hurt :)
P.S. you'll want to be careful if you order on their site, cause there's a lot of other Evergreens there, and their descriptions are screwy sometimes. I think amazon and other sources carry some of their stuff too. I wish they had stayed together longer. I'm thinking there's a bunch of other stuff you would really like.
